Ysgol Tir Morfa - Newsletter Friday 28th March 2025

Dear Parents and Carers,

Exciting news - the construction team have started work this week on the build for our new Hydro Therapy Pool! We are all so pleased that work has finally started after many years of fundraising! It is going to be a wonderful additional resource for the pupils at Ysgol Tir Morfa.

A big thank you to all those who joined us for the ‘Friends of Ysgol Tir Morfa’ coffee morning at Brews on Tuesday. There was a wonderful turnout and it was great to discuss lots of new and exciting ideas for fundraising events! Even if you can’t attend the meetings but would like to offer support events in other ways please let us know.

Pupils and staff have also been very busy in Blooms this week producing lots of wonderful flower arrangements and gifts for Mother’s Day on Sunday.

Have a lovely weekend.

Kind regards,

Susan H. Roberts

Headteacher

Our Week at Tir Morfa
Famau have been constructing willow brush fences around the forest school area. It makes a huge difference and the team work has been fantastic.
Today we trialled our “fruit and veg, pick n’ mix”. We had carrots, grapes, strawberries, peppers and oranges for everyone to try, and yogurt and fruit for the grown-ups. Everything can be explored through your senses, using touch, smell, taste, sight, and by listening to the sounds the fruit and veg makes when you break or squish it. It is 50p for a yogurt and fruit, and we will pick up and wash the re-usable containers afterwards.
Alwen spent time in our woods today watching the trees move in the breeze. We experienced a sensory story about Three Bears and ate porridge as Goldilocks did.
Tegid have had a fantastic time with Music this week. They were able join in with music while at Forest school!
Tryfan pupils have made the most of the sunny days to prepare our beds ready for spring planting.
Another busy week in Enfys with everyone working very hard!
We kicked off science this week with a favourite experiment of ours in assembly, mentos and coke! We expected a fizz and a mess and we got it!!!!!
This week Dosbarth Haul have enjoyed exploring what we need to grow plants. We enjoyed scooping, pouring and exploring with our hands as well as using our communication boards!
Siabod enjoying their D of E walk in the fresh air
