Athletics

Winter Sports

As the winter season is coming to a close we are watching and hoping that some of our teams will have a chance at making it to the playoffs! We have had some end of season action for some sports and for others we still have a few games of regular season to play. Our basketball teams have another week of games to play until we know about tournaments, but the excitement is there. Our wrestling, swim and track team have finished regular season events.

Boys Basketball- Our boys basketball team has a current record of 10-7 this season with three games left. We look forward to the action against DMA 2/15, and their home games 2/17 and 2/20 (Senior Night). We wish them good luck as they finish these regular season games and hope for some playoff action!

Girls Basketball- Our basketball girls have one home game left in their season (Senior Night) and one away game with a current record of 12-4. We look forward to these last two games and a (hopeful) playoff run for our red wolves!

Cheerleading- We truly appreciate both out JV and Varsity Cheerleaders for all their pep, encouragement and support at our home basketball games. The ladies have learned new cheers and found new ways to engage the crowd. Shout out to both the JV and Varsity squads!

Hockey-Our three hockey players are having a great time this season. Nunzio, Gannon, and Ethan play with members from the AI Tigers for a combined “Red Clay” team. Though the late night games our red wolves have showed their skills and have also showed their commitment to their education- they are true student-athletes. The team has one more game against DMA on Feb 23, come out and support!

Swim- Our swim team has ended their regular season with a record of 5-6. The team had a great season and many athletes have earned the chance to swim at the State meet (Feb 24). Individual qualifiers include: Evan Hawley, Brett Kennedy, Emil Lehmann, Aaron Stevens, Christopher Williamson, Kate Coughlin, Presley Lloyd and Alyssa Napier. Students heading to states for a relay include some from the previous list, additionally: Aidan Hawley, Mathieu Juhasz, Parker Nagle, Natalia Caraballo, Ava Napier, Leah Nuzzi and Caroline Villamagna. We are excited to see them at the state meet! Congratulations red wolves!

Track- Our Track and Field team ended their season with the DIAA State Championship Feb 3rd. Three of our athletes earned the chance to compete individually (Kayla Williams, Alyssa Napier and Sebastian Bergstrasser), we were also fortunate enter students in all of the relay events. This means that Conrad took 22 athletes to the meet to compete. The girls track and field team finished in 9th place at the meet. Scoring individually were Kayla Williams (2nd place- shot put) and Alyssa Napier (3rd place – 400m, and 7th place – 200m). Sebastian who was entered to run in the 3200m finished 10th . Congratulations to these athletes and all of those who participated in the relays for the team.

Before the meet student-athletes Ryan Williamson and Kayla Williams were honored with DIAA Academic awards for the work they put in on and off the track. Way to go red wolves!

Wrestling- Our wrestlers ended their regular season matches at the Cavalier Duals at Middletown HS. Our athletes went 2-2 with Middletown resulting in a big win (42-39) to end the day. At the meet JC Santos went 4-0 in his matches, Tommy Arms also went 4-0 in his matches, Lucca Smit went 3-1. Awesome performances for these three red wolves. Adding to the excitement, at the end of the match JC was named the tournaments “Most Outstanding Wrestler” – way to go JC! The team ends the regular season 9-5 and looks forwards to hearing about post season events.

Conrad Football Youth Summer Camp registration is now open. Students grades 3-8 are welcome to join. Information can be found on redwolvescamps.org .
