By mixing earth, water, and cremated remains, we celebrate those who have passed simply, beautifully, and in harmony with the natural world.
Sculptures start at $399. Contact us for more information:
Our Process
1. We start by sustainably harvesting local clay from high in the Wasatch mountain range.
2. Next we sift and refine the raw material, purifying it for use in your dorodango.
3. Then we mix that purified clay with one cup of cremated remains (provided by you or your crematory), lastly adding the natural pigments and textural finishes you select.
After several days of hands-on processing in our workshop, your dorodango memorial is ready for you to hold in your own hands.
Natural Mineral pigments
Our all-natural, mineral pigments and ochres are harvested from quarries in Europe (e.g. France, Italy, Spain, and Germany). If you do not see a color you like, contact us and ask about possible pigment mixing.
our hope
We know from how hard seasons of grief can be. We hope that our art form can be a healing gift, which you can hold in your hands as you navigate life on the other side of death.
