A Message from the Head of School
Dear KUA Community,
It was wonderful to have so many parents, family, and friends join us on campus for Fall Family Weekend to feel some of the incredible energy we have been feeling on campus this year. I also had the opportunity to travel with 10 of our students and two faculty members to New Zealand, as we connected with the representatives of our seven other GAIL schools and enhance those meaningful relationships for ongoing collaboration and exchanges.
Later this week, we look forward to welcoming both current and past board members to campus for our fall meetings and a celebration of the residential-life construction project at Kilton and Welch that continues to progress ahead of schedule and on budget.
There are some amazing teams to follow and the fall play hits the stage this Thursday and Friday evenings, so I hope to see you on campus soon!

Power of the Game
Lacrosse is rooted in Native American tradition and today Indigenous communities are trying to change the narrative of the sport by reclaiming their culture, educating the public on the sport’s origins, and competing on the world stage. As lacrosse makes its way to the 2028 Summer Olympics, a KUA student-athlete and recent graduate are helping bring awareness to the game's origins.
STEM Scholar Program Hosts NASA Astrophysicist
Dr. Sabrina Savage, an Astrophysicist in Solar & Solar Terrestrial Studies at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center, visited campus last week. During her time on The Hilltop she was a guest at the STEM Scholar Seminar, presented at All-School Meeting, and worked with the ninth-grade Conceptual Physics classes. During her visit, Dr. Savage shared her area of expertise in solar flares and discussed her role in building and designing new solar instrumentation for sounding rockets.
Spend a Night at the Theater
The KUA Theater Department is excited to present Eurydice in Flickinger Auditorium on October 26-27. The play reimagines the Greek myth of Orpheus from the perspective of his wife, Eurydice. Dying too young on her wedding day, Eurydice journeys to the underworld where she reunites with her father and struggles to remember her lost love. A hauntingly beautiful and dreamlike piece, Eurydice is a poetic musing on love, grief, and the importance of memory. Tickets for the public are free and available at the door prior to each performance. Students can reserve tickets in Doe Dining Commons.
