GMCSD Forest Management Projects GMCSD & NCA Cooperative Burn Day Preparing for winter
Forest Management - Supported and managed by your CSD
You have likely noticed the activity on Red Sky, Dream Maker, and Star Top over the past couple of months. This is a roadside vegetation clearing project started by the GMCSD Forest Management Committee, funded by the annual community fire tax. This project was started on Red Sky and will continue south west along Star Top and Dream Maker, working towards Great Spirit. This project is within the CSD's road easements in accordance with the CSD charter. This project intends to provide improved access to utilities as well as create fire breaks throughout the community. Please stay tuned as fire mitigation plans continue throughout the District.
Wednesday, November 19, 2025 - GMCSD & NCA Burn Day
Please be aware that tomorrow, the CSD & NCA will be burning slash from the Forest Management roadside clearing project. These burns will occur at 157 Deer Trail, so if you see or smell smoke, please rest assured that this is the source. Winter is coming - prepare your homes - protect your utilities
Please take a moment to consider what you may need to do to protect your home this winter:
- Turn off irrigation systems and properly cover hose bibs to prevent frozen or burst pipes (especially if this is not your primary residence)
- Disconnect and drain outdoor hoses Clear gutters to prevent ice dams
- Store outdoor furniture, grills, and equipment in the garage or basement, or cover them securely For extended absences, set your thermostat to at least 55 degrees farenhiet and open cabinet doors to help heat circulate to pipes
