The Jacobs in Rome Reaching professors and students with the Gospel in Rome, Italy

Introducing The Jacobs

Brandon, CourtneyRemi (7), Leo (4), & Stella (2)

We have been living in Rome since 2018 and our mission is to help fulfill the Great Commission in Italy by connecting students and professors to Christ and raising up the next generation of Christian leaders.

Rebuilding the ancient ruins

They shall build up the ancient ruins... they shall repair the ruined cities -Isaiah 61:4

Since we moved to Rome back in 2018, our personal vision is that God would restore life to the "ancient ruins" of Rome and that Christ would once again be exalted and treasured here. As you walk a typical street in Rome you can't help but notice ancient monuments, beautiful (but empty) churches, and lots of ruins. Isaiah 61 has provided us with an incredible picture of what the Gospel offers a city like Rome.

Present Reality

Rome has 3 major universities, roughly 200,000 students, and 10,000 professors. Despite nearly 17 centuries of organized religion, most Romans have never met someone who truly follows Christ. Students are desperately searching for truth but view Jesus as irrelevant to their lives and purpose.

The pressure to succeed in university often leaves students feeling isolated and alone. We help students and professors build lasting connections as they pursue their purpose and explore faith in Jesus Christ.

Our DNA: Win, Build, and Send

WIN - we are committed to getting the Gospel to every student through conversations, outreaches, and digital and social media.

Volleyball in the park, picture surveys, and professor events are just a few of the ways we engage new students and professors with the Gospel.

BUILD - we are committed to helping students grow in their faith through small groups, mentoring relationships, conferences and retreats, and learning how to tell others about Christ.

SEND - we are committed to sending students and professors to live life on mission through short- and long-term mission trips, church leadership, ministry in the workplace, or full-time Christian work.

Dennis (left) was a former student who now leads the young adults ministry at a church in Rome. Paolo and Bianca (Right) are getting married in September! Paolo is a teacher and Bianca is a doctor in residence. They are both living out their faith in the workplace.

We would love to get to know you and share how you can be a part of what God is doing to rebuild the ancient ruins in Rome.
