HALLOWEEN INFORMATION
On Friday, October 31st, we will have our whole school Halloween Celebration and Parade. Families may come to view the parade outside the building at 8:45am. The parade usually lasts about 20 minutes.
Students should come to school on time at 8:30am already dressed with their costume on OVER their clothes. They need to be able to take off the costumes after the parade for the remainder of the day. Students can wear masks for the parade.
Halloween Costume Tips:
• Non-violent
• No makeup or face paint
• Able to move easily through doorways
• Please do not send any weapons with costumes or have students wear costumes that are overly scary (ie. blood squirting, etc.)
• Able to take costume off in the classroom with no help
• Should fit over regular clothes
• Bring a bag to put costume in after the morning parade
Lost & Found - Fall Clean Out
Lost and Found items will be displayed on tables outside the Riffenburgh Main entrance on October 31, 2025. Please look for your student's lost items before/after the Halloween Parade. All items not claimed will be donated on Monday, November 4, 2024.
News from PTO
Thank you to those who came to support the runners during Friday's Fun Run and to those who supported students in their fundraising efforts. On October 22nd, students will have the opportunity to shop at the Fun Run Prize Shop using the points they earned from fundraising. Every student will have points to spend, even if they didn't raise money. If you're interested in volunteering for a 1-hour time slot for the Prize Shop, you can do so

News from the Health Office
As we enter our Fall and Winter seasons, we often see increased illnesses in our students. Just a friendly reminder, please do not send your child to school if they are feeling ill. Several symptoms such as Diarrhea, Vomiting, Fever of 100.4 or greater, Flu-like symptoms, and Respiratory viruses are reasons for students to stay home, and they may not return to school until 24 hours after their last symptom and without using fever-reducing medications.
Any medications, whether prescription or over the counter, that your student may need at school must have a signed order from your doctor, this includes cough drops, ointments & eye drops. We have been seeing several cough drops at school and medications in backpacks.
Please reach out to the Health Office, 970-488-7941, with any questions.
Thank you for keeping all of our students healthy & safe.

SRO CORNER - October 2025
Happy Fall! We are over a month into a new school year, and the SRO team wanted to remind everyone to drive safely. The streets around schools have a speed limit of 20 MPH during morning, afternoon and midday hours. Regardless, you should always drive cautiously around schools as students may be coming and going anytime throughout the day.
Not only is it important to drive slowly, but it is imperative to pay attention to your surroundings. Students arrive in vehicles and students also walk, bike or scooter to school. Take time to look twice before you turn, watch the crossing guards and give space to the vehicles in front of you. City of Fort Collins ordinances allow bicyclists on sidewalks, so please pay extra attention to any pedestrian crossing areas for both walkers and bikers. Also be aware of street signage around your schools. For example, please do not U-turn where there are “no U-turn” signs. It might be inconvenient, but the signs are there for the safety of you and others around the schools.
Give yourself enough time for pick up or drop off so that you aren’t rushing, especially on adverse weather days. Please stay off cell phones while driving and avoid dropping students off in non-designated areas. Students and drivers should remain seat belted until they are ready to exit a stopped vehicle. We also ask the pedestrians to use caution when walking to school. Pay attention to the cars, use designated crosswalk areas and wear helmets if you are on the move!
You will see your SRO’s or other Police Officers around schools conducting traffic education and enforcement. Remember, we are all partners in creating safe roadways for our students, families and staff.
As always, reach out to your SRO for any other questions!
Thank you and stay safe,
SRO Dave Wilson
