ABOUT ME
MY NAME IS LUDMILA MORAN. I'M A STUDENT IN FULL SAIL UNIVERSITY AND A CERTIFIED TEACHER IN FLORIDA. I HAVE A BACHELOR DEGREE IN COMPUTER ANIMATION, AND I'M STUDYING MY MASTER'S IN SPORT MANAGEMENT. I REALLY ENJOY SPORTS SINCE I WAS BORN AND THE AMAZING SPORT OF SOCCER. ONE OF MY DESIRES IS TO BECOME A COACH/DT FOR SOCCER.
INTENTION STATEMENT
In the Sport Management business, I will be able to be involved in planning, directing, organizing, leading among other things in a field of recreation. My intention for my Mastery Journey is to get the knowledge and understanding of the business skills that I will need to be successful in the sport industry. Get a deep knowledge of the legal issues in sports that I need to have in mind to be able to make profitable negotiations and deals. I will like to get a big understanding to be able to develop the rights tool to become more critical-thinking, problem solving and maintain a long and productive professional path during my career.
One of the sports that I like the most is soccer, and my goal is to be able to dedicate my life to it. I know that by adding this education knowledge and the one that I’m acquiring from the coach/DT course for soccer that I’m taking, I will get a deep understanding of the field and my learning journey will help me to be able to achieve one of my goals which it’s to have my own soccer team. Reason why, I need to be able to get a deep understanding in how to manage the part of Project and Team Management, which is a fundamental key in this field in where I’m going to be dealing with people who are trying to accomplish their own goals in life.
I would like to enjoy this journey and get the most of it as possible. Having fun in this path I’m taking and be open to perceiving the best of it without limiting myself. Inspiration and giving us permission to dream and accomplish those dreams can be huge. The perseverance, commitment and effort that we will put into our life's task will take us to the place where we want to be.
INSPIRATIONAL
LIONEL SEBASTIAN SCALONI
Lionel Scaloni is an Argentinian professional soccer manager who currently coaches the Argentina national soccer team. He won with his team two important tournament, the American Cup of 2021 and the World Cup of 2022.
A lot people couldn’t see and believe in the potential he has by being a coach/DT (technical director). People couldn’t see the process of what he was trying to accomplish and the steps he was taking to lead his team to be the champions. They put more emphasis on criticizing him in public, but Scaloni did not seek the public's approval, he sought to fulfill the dream of a team, a country and himself.
I’m from Argentina and I know sometimes they don’t give a lot of approval to woman in the soccer environment. I would like to make a difference in the field and I know I can learn a lot from a person like Scaloni. No matter what the people around you say or think about you, we are the ones writing our own story and achieving our own goals.
This quote from Theodore Roosevelt really resonated with how I believe things are achieved. You always need to believe in yourself if you want to accomplish dreams and goals in life. Nobody else can do that job for you. If we wait for the believe or approval of somebody else we are not going to even start our journey to make it happen. As soon as we star being confident and believing in ourselves, we are already halfway walking through it to achieved it.
Career (Long Term Goal): My career long term goal will be to have my own soccer team competing in the Major League Soccer (MLS).
Graduation (Short Term Goal): My short-term goal will be to put together my own soccer team.
To accomplish these goals, one of the first thing I would do is to think on the name and logo that I would like to use for my team. Something that I already created. It took me time to really decided the name and the different colors and shapes to use on the logo, but I can say that I feel really happy with the results.
Another step I would need to take is to create a company like an LLC to organize my business. I will have a name for the company and a fantasy name different from the company for the team. Because I’m trying to close a deal with a soccer team from Argentina, I already created an LLC in the Sunbiz website under the name of Argentina Sports LLC, and the fantasy name for the team is Athletic Club Oviedo.
Another step that I need to have in mind it will be to look and rent a soccer field for the practices and another choice it will be for the tournaments. After deciding, I will get in contact with the owners or people in charge of the place to organize the arrangements and contracts for it.
Even that I’m studying to become a coach/DT in soccer, I will be more in charge of the business and deals, reason why I would need to hire a coach for my team.
After having the appropriate deals, I will start advertising the soccer academy for the younger kids and the Tryouts for the players that will be competing in the most important tournaments.
While organizing all these things, I need to make sure that I get the insurance for my players, and the corresponding license for this specific sport.
A strategy I would like to apply in my job will be dimensional mind by getting a high level of knowledge about sport management and soccer, because I want to be open and flexible to use the knowledge in new and original ways like Robert Greene teaches us in his Mastery book.
Another thing I will try it would be to get a clear understanding of the legal procedures and being organize with my business to be able to growth in the sport industry and give my soccer players the right support for their career.
Networking is fundamental in soccer I have been making different connections through Instagram and with the people that I’m meeting in my other classes. On the other hand, I have a partner who had a soccer team in Argentina before and he has been introducing me to a lot of people from the soccer field. In soccer is good to make connections in countries in where that sport is the most important like in Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Spain, among others. I will put a lot of emphasis on continuing to make connections during my career and beyond.
