This month’s Goering Center Newsletter is designed to keep you informed on everything going on in the Goering Community!
As we move away from the wonderful celebration of the 25th Annual Family and Private Business Awards, let us all take a moment to reflect on the thought leadership offered by Carol Butler, President of the Goering Center:
“This year’s theme, "Taking Care of Business," was designed to honor the outstanding achievements of family and privately-owned businesses that have put in the work to achieve success while also playing a pivotal role in driving our vibrant economy!”
25 Years of the Family and Private Business Awards
Thank you to all who joined us in “taking care of business” at the 25th Annual Family and Private Business Awards on September 10. It was an honor to recognize and celebrate the achievements of local businesses who do so much for the community. A special thank you to Kyle Inskeep for being our co-emcee of the evening!
Congratulations once again to our honorees! To see the full list of honorees, click below:
Goering Center Programming Highlights
"Now I Get It!"
The Goering Center and MACKEY are partnering once more to bring you the latest installment of "Financial Fluency for Next Generation Leaders".
Understanding your company's finances can be a daunting task. With the help of MACKEY, we are excited to make this task approachable for anyone in your company.
Program Overview
Too often, next generation successors are either completely left out of, or are overwhelmed by, financial conversations.
"Now I Get It!" Financial Fluency for Next Gen Leaders empowers emerging leaders to understand their company’s financial data, giving them the confidence to engage in conversation and make better business decisions.
Mackey McNeill, author, educator and CEO of MACKEY, will equip participants to accurately read and interpret their financial statements, so they can ask relevant and useful questions regarding that information.
Emerging leaders will learn to forecast easy or challenging financial times, and will see the connection between company activities, responsibilities, and financial results.
Are you ready for what the economy may have in store in 2025?
Leading a business requires watching your economic landscape to manage risks and grow.
Join us as a representative from the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland pinpoints the facts and provides insights into the dynamics that may affect you, your employees and your business in 2025:
What regional and national economic forces will drive growth and profitability in 2025 (and what should you prepare for).
What's going to happen to the labor, inflation and wages in 2025 (and how should you prepare).
What the outlooks are for inflation and interest rates (and how can you take advantage).
And how will all of this and other dynamics affect our local/regional service, manufacturing, and distribution industries - and you.
Moderated by Dan Barnett, Johnson Investment Counsel
The Next Generation Institute (NGI)® is for owners and leaders of family businesses, their successors, and other family members who may or may not work in or have ownership interest in the business.
The program shines a light on the issues that most do not anticipate in a caring, supportive environment, while equipping the family to take action when they decide the time is right.
