Cylchlythyr Ysgol Saltney Ferry "Working together, we shall all succeed." / "Cydweithio, gallwn gyd llwyddo."

Croeso i'n cylchlythyr newydd. Welcome to our revised newsletter format. Once we've received updated consent forms, the newsletter will replace our word document in the new year and contain videos, links and photos from across our school learning. We hope you find our new layout more personal, interactive and fun to share with your child.

As we finish the Christmas period please consider recycling your natural tree with us. In 2024 we will be starting a new after school club developing pupils' entrepreneurial skills. We will make products to sell at points in the year using recycled materials.

Please speak with Mr Lloyd if you wish to drop your tree with us in the new year. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Very egg-citing plans ahead for outdoor learning as we further develop our pupils learning opportunities. Our first step will be rescuing ex-battery hens in the new year. Things are already underway to organise a new house for them, secure run and how to make the ladies comfortable.

Battery hens are culled at 18 months as they drop in egg production. By rescuing them we are giving them a better life and pupils a cracking opportunity develop a wide range of skills. We look forward to sharing this egg-citing adventure with you.

We've a new channel coming to two platforms, @SaltneyFerryFM podcast station will share a series of snapshots in our learning, guest interviews and pupil voice. The children will develop their own episode content, record, edit and publish. We will keep you posted as soon as episodes are aired.

We are always eager to share the importance of reading stories for enjoyment, especially at home and the impact this has on learning.

Staff have proposed to share our love of reading with you at home. We've set up a Youtube channel @ysgolsaltneyferry to share our favourite stories with you. There are a few videos already live on the channel accessible by a link.

In the consent forms it is noted that all content is 'unlisted', this means it cannot be found by just anyone. The links will be published on our newsletters and Classdojo pages.
