2025 Global Sustainability Challenge - Dubai 7 November - 14 november 2025, Curtin Dubai campus

Join us for the 2nd annual Global Sustainability Challenge (GSC) on Curtin Dubai's campus from 7-14 November 2025!

Undergraduate and postgraduate students from each of Curtin’s global campuses will come together to propose innovative solutions to sustainability-focused challenges posed by industry partners. This week-long intensive program is also a credit-bearing unit; you will gain 25 credits towards your degree upon successfully completing the Challenge.

Travel grants will be available for up to 5 students from each Curtin campus (outside of Dubai) to attend and participate in the GSC. Applicants must meet eligibility criteria and will undergo a formal application and interview process in order to be considered for enrolment into the Challenge and the related unit.

Watch the video below to learn more about participating in the GSC from our 2024 participants!

In order to be considered for the Global Sustainability Challenge, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Course weighted average (CWA) of 65 or above
  • Be in good academic standing
  • A current Curtin student with an elective or optional unit available on your study plan for a future study period (please note: some faculties will not consider option units for substitution.)
  • Undergraduates: have completed at least 200 credits towards your degree by the end of Sem 1, 2025
  • Postgraduates: have completed at least 100 credits towards your degree by the end of Sem 1, 2025

This will be a busy week full of collaboration with local industry partners and local government organisations to tackle and find solutions for some of their biggest sustainability problems within their business. When you aren't busy ideating, innovating, and creating with your team, we'll be out exploring all that beautiful Dubai has to offer on our cultural field trips and team-building activities.

The best part? You'll gain credit towards your degree AND get to meet students from all over the world. We hope you'll join us for this amazing adventure.
