The Week Ahead!!
To celebrate the halfway point of the school year, we are hosting the Annual MSE Pancake Breakfast on Thursday February 13th. Each grade will have a designated time during the day where they will be served breakfast that includes Pancakes, eggs, sausage and more! Due to this event, we will not be serving breakfast before school begins.
Mid-Winter Wellness Break
As with every extended break at MSE, we will be observing a Wellness Break for Mid-Winter Break. We encourage everyone to fully disconnect and enjoy the three days off and come back rested, refreshed, and ready to go on Wednesday February 19!
Eagle of the Week
This week's "Eagle of the Week" is 8th Grader Ariana S. who was nominated by her Science teacher Mr. Michell who wrote, "Ariana has truly been an outstanding student to have in class. Her work ethic is second to none. She tackles every challenge with determination, always giving 110% regardless of the task's size or difficulty. But what truly sets Ariana apart is not just her academic commitment; it's her incredible kindness and her genuine willingness to help her peers. Her positive attitude is contagious, creating an environment where learning feels both enriching and enjoyable for everyone around her. Ariana is the kind of student who not only excels personally but also lifts up the entire class, making it a better place for all. It’s clear that her dedication and her thoughtful nature are what make her a truly special individual." Congrats Ariana!
Be the Change Winner of the Week
Congratulations to Hayden P. for being our Positive Office Referral Winner of the week! Thank you for being a positive role model to all of the students at MSE!
Attendance
With all of the breaks and snow days, it is more important than ever to make sure your child is in attendance on the days we have school. If they miss days they run a risk of falling further and further behind on classroom material. We understand that your child may get sick, but otherwise they should be in attendance. Missing just 2 days a month puts a student at a high risk of falling below grade level in achievement. If your child is sick, a doctors note, or a note from an urgent care facility, or a note for appointments is needed in order for that absence to be excused and not count against possible truancy charges for you and your child.
Literacy Leaders of Quarter 2
Teachers nominated their Literacy Leaders for Quarter 2 this week for kids working hard in class and going above and beyond.
Above: Ms. Budnick's class had a blast this week with "Population Pandemonium" a simulation game relating their Geography skills to population growth!
Vision Screening
Due to the Ice Day that cancelled school, the Vision Screening for 7th graders has been rescheduled to February 27th. There is a small list of 8th graders that will need to be screened as well. If your student is prescribed glasses or contacts, please make sure they wear them that day. If you do not want your student to participate in the vision screening, please send a letter with your student to give to Mrs. Brossoit in the main office as soon as possible.
