Clubs January 2025

Clubs will continue to run on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and will start back tomorrow as planned. All current members are able to continue.

There will be only one change this term: Dance Club on a Wednesday will not be running.

Our provision is:

Tuesday: Art with Mrs Reeve for Reception, Year 1 & Year 2

Tuesday: Art with Mr Davies for Years 3,4,5 & 6

Tuesday: Digital Leaders with Miss Rooke (this is by invitation only)

Wednesday: Netball with Miss Wills for Years 5 & 6

Wednesday: Science Club with Miss Williams for Reception, Year 1 & Year 2

Science, Netball & both Art clubs can accommodate a small number of new children but spaces are limited.

If you would like to apply for a place at any of these clubs (and your child did not attend them last term) please email the office to request a space. We will not be able to confirm in time for tomorrow or Wednesday but will confirm by Friday if your child is able to join next week.

It is extremely rare for us to cancel a club. Please assume that unless the website says 'no clubs' or you have not been contacted by us then clubs are running.

We are very lucky that the staff of Pontllanfraith volunteer to run after school clubs and activities. We do our best to offer a range of activities to a range of ages (within the obvious limitations of staff skills & availability). Numbers may be limited according to the activity.

Clubs will not run on weeks when staff have to attend additional afterschool meetings, training or events, nor during the period when they are writing end of year reports.

There is no charge for clubs run by school staff. However parents have told us they are willing to pay a small charge for additional clubs run by outside providers.

Important:

It is very important that we know that you are expecting your child to attend an after-school club and that you know that that is where they are. We also need to know that every child will get home safely.

If your child is in school but not attending the club please ensure that YOU let the school know that morning (either in writing or by telephoning the school office). ALL children should be collected by an adult at the end of any after school activity.
