All courses listed here are included in Central Michigan University's International Health Certificate program. This graduate certificate includes 5 courses, 2-3 of which are travel courses. The remaining classes are offered online. Undergraduate students are welcome to participate in some courses listed below. Contact the course instructor with any questions.

HSC516: A data sprint course at the University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands
2027 dates will be announced by our European partner institution in September 2026. Tentative plans are being made for the first week in January, 2027. Back up dates, also tentative, are during the week of July 4th in 2027. Contact: Dr. Lana Ivanitskaya, ivani1sv@cmich.edu. This offering will combine
- a study of digital methods for graduate students and upper-level Honors students,
- a team-based analysis of data from open access sources (CMU will pitch a project related to health care management), and
- research presentations by international teams composed of graduate students and faculty.

HSC516: A faculty-led International Health Service Learning in Belize

- Site visits to Xunantunich Mayan Ruins tour, Rio on Pools excursion (swimming and natural landscape), San Ignacio town tour with local guides, Botanical Gardens exploration
- Rural health clinics in local villages, Guest lecture by Belizean physician, Faculty & NGO-led discussions, Hospital visit on healthcare delivery
- Engage in meaningful service that promotes community health while gaining professional, cultural, and personal insights. Deliver diabetes education and child health assessments directly to Belizean communities

CANCELED for 2026; may be offered in 2028. The World Congress on Public Health (WCPH) is held biennially by the World Federation of Public Health Associations (WFPHA). The 19th World Congress on Public Health is scheduled for 2028 in Auckland, New Zealand.
