ABOUT SUSTAINABLE INSIGHTS

In 2022 MaetaData launched Sustainable Insights to bring the identical tools we offer large corporations to individual universities to address the common pain points we hear in generating reporting on food purchasing, including:

  • Reporting to multiple stakeholders by multiple definitions
  • Accommodating custom definitions of local by state and/or mileage, as well as distinguishing farm from local business support
  • Access to our entire suite of 85+ attributes for sustainability attribution across every food category with yearly auditing
  • AI-driven attribution and cloud-based storage provides efficient and accurate visualization, and takes your efforts off of insecure spreadsheets and email storage for less than the cost of rotating part-time staff

We can't wait to show you all our tools can do for you!

HOW IT WORKS

Upload your data using our template. We provide support and you only need to do it once!

Our AI process auto-attributes what we know which is typically 50-80% of what you buy and we research and attribute the rest. The entire process takes 10 business days on average.

Results populate your new dashboard in just 30 days with pre-existing views for AASHE STARS 2.2, Menus of Change, Local and Sustainable and our 4 Families of Local© by custom definition by mileage and state.

Updating can be monthly or quarterly. Our system recognizes what it has already seen quickly. Submit by the 15th and your updated report is ready by the 1st.

Upgrade your experience with carbon scoring of your recipes, maps of local suppliers, or access to our downloadable PDF reporting templates.

our ROOTS began as a LOCAL FOODS BROKER to scale opportunity for small farms
Linda Mallers, CEO and Founder

Linda Mallers is MaetaData's CEO and Founder, and founded its parent company FarmLogix in 2012 as a farm-to-table CSA school fundraiser she delivered in her car with help from her four young children. With a background in marketing, agricultural futures and early internet technology pre-browser, she leveraged her e-commerce and seasonal/dynamic pricing background to create the first Midwest online farmer's market. FarmLogix expanded by taking title to local food and selling it into broadline distribution as a virtual food hub, offering a suite of compliance management tools, price/payment terms protection for farms, and source transparency and reporting for buyers. As its data capabilities and reporting became increasingly valuable FarmLogix transitioned fully to an AI-driven technology platform in 2020 and rebranded as MaetaData. Today the company provides reporting dashboards that accommodate custom definitions for local, sustainable and diverse for universities, hospital systems and corporations nationwide. Linda received her BA from UW-Madison followed by MS Computer Science graduate study at The University of Chicago. She competed in adventure racing and with Team USA Triathlon over a 10 year period internationally and credits the teamwork, discipline and focus of outdoor team sports as integral to Maeta's collaborative culture, commitment to our climate and support of those that bring sustainable, local and diverse culinary options to diners where they learn, work and visit.
