MSE Families, What a great last week we had! I was impressed with the resilience that students displayed as they went through a week of MSTEP testing. It's a change to the routine, but the students worked hard and did a great job this week. Thank you to all the parents for getting your kids to school consistently this past week so we could accomplish that testing. There are so many exciting things happening in classes and so much growth and hard work by the majority of students! This week also marks something very special — Teacher Appreciation Week! I want to take a moment to honor the remarkable educators who walk through our doors every single day with dedication, creativity, and endless heart to the profession! The teachers are MSE work hard not just to teach, but go beyond to help your children be successful. They notice the quiet child who needs encouragement. They stay late to plan lessons that spark curiosity. They celebrate every small victory and gently guide students through every stumble. They show up, day after day, because they believe in your children. To every teacher in our MSE Community: THANK YOU. To our MSE Parents who are teachers in other buildings and other districts, thank you as well!! Your work is valued and appreciated in it's own way! We warmly encourage all families to take a moment this week to reach out and share your appreciation. A kind word, a heartfelt note, or even a simple "thank you" goes a long way in lifting the spirits of those who give so much to our students. You can send a note directly to your child's teacher, drop by the front office, or even have your child share a message of their own! Thank you, as always, for your partnership with educating your children. Have a great week!! --Mr. MacIntosh

The Upcoming Week

Teacher Appreciation Week

This week is Teacher Appreciation Week and we are honored to recognize the hard work put in by the teachers here at Middle School East. Our PCC has things planned and we are having a student spirit week to recognize staff. As a parent if you want to recognize a teacher, even a simple note of positivity goes a long way!

Spring NWEA Testing

We will be conducting Spring NWEA testing in Math and Reading beginning this week. Please make every effort to have your child in school as much as possible. This Spring we are going to have a friendly grade-level competition of which students can grow their scores the most and show how much growth they've made this school year!! Any student who grows their score from Winter to Spring earns points to help their grade level (ex. Student grows 3 points in Math they add 3 points to the total growth for their grade!). If you grow even just 1 point that helps your grade level! The more students that grow their score, the better. Students who don't take the test seriously and have a steep drop off in their score hurts their grade level!! At the end of spring NWEA testing the Grade Level with this most overall growth will earn a free day of a field day and ice cream party on Friday May 22. Let the friendly competition begin!!  You can help as a parent by encouraging your child to do their best!

Mid-Marking Progress Reports

Mid-Marking Reports are going to be available on PowerSchool after 9:00AM on Tuesday. This will reflect the most updated grade for your child in classes and their most updated citizenship grade for classroom behavior and following our behavior expectations. If your child has failed to meet the minimum expectations to participate in year end field trips, they will have a progress report sheet they must get filled out every week to show improvement or risk not being allowed to attend. We could really use your help stepping up as parents to remind your child that school is a place for good behavior and following directions!!

Eagle of the week

Khloe A. was nominated a couple of weeks ago by Mrs. Torres who wrote "Khloe consistently demonstrates quiet kindness, treating others with respect and genuine care without seeking recognition. She is responsible and dependable, always doing what is expected, and her positive character makes her an all-around wonderful person to have in the classroom." Congratulations!

This week Addyson S. was nominated by her Math Teacher, Mrs. Diggan who wrote "I proud to recognize Addyson as Eagle of the Week. Addy is an exceptional student who truly embodies what it means to be a dedicated learner and a strong leader in the classroom. She consistently demonstrates grit, intelligence, and curiosity in her work, driven by a strong work ethic to perform at her best. Beyond her academic strengths, she stands out for her kindness toward others. She is always willing to lend a helping hand, approaches each day with a great attitude, and embraces challenges with confidence and determination. Her willingness to step outside her comfort zone and support those around her makes her a wonderful role model. Congratulations to Addy on being Student of the Week!" Congratulations!!

We will be doing a school-wide bingo game the last week of school to close out the year and could use your help to get as many prizes for kids as possible! If you're out shopping in the next few weeks grab some snacks, candy, or small prizes and you can drop them off in the office! Thank you for the support!
