Yes! Adobe Express for Education is free for all K-12 educational institutions, educators, and their students.
Adobe Express for K-12 is different to the commercial version and has guardrails in place to protect students, they include:
- Safe search functionality
- Student friendly Adobe Stock images only.
- Education-specific privacy controls to meet student privacy obligations.
- No paywalls, ads, popups or community access.
- Sharing restrictions can be enforced using the Adobe Admin Console.

Adobe Firefly
Adobe now offers generative AI features for K12 and it is called Adobe Firefly. You can access Firefly via the Adobe Express platform or you can access it directly on the web.
Here are some key benefits about Adobe Firefly:
- Administrators can toggle the Gen AI features on or off via their Admin Console.
- Firefly is commercially safe and only trained on Stock and non-copyright assets.
- Original content created using Firefly and Express belongs to the customer.
- Content credentials are automatically to an image when Firefly is used. This provides full visibility and transparency when Firefly is used. Click here for more info about the Content Authenticity Initiatative (CAI).
