Office News Continued..
Please remind your child of appropriate dress for WINTER temperatures. This includes students who wear shorts to school. Please consider putting a pair of pants in their backpack that they can put on over their shorts for outdoor recess. We have outdoor recess if the wind chill is 15 or above. Phys. Ed. classes do go outside and most classrooms take an extra recess break for fresh air.

News from the Music Room
MARCH is Music in Our Schools Month!!!!
Did you know that March is nationally designated “Music in our Schools Month?” It is an entire month-long celebration when we recognize the great music programs in our schools. Fortunately, the music program at Northwestern Lehigh is like no other! What you may not realize is that our district has been recognized nationally as a “Best Community for Music Education” for the last four years by the NAMM Foundation. This is a high honor in the world of music education and a recognition of the investment the students and community have made in the music program at Northwestern Lehigh! Ensemble enrollment is at an all time high, programs and classes have been expanding, and musical learning has shown positive growth over the last four years.
No celebration would be complete without the community’s continued commitment to our success! Thank you for your support of music education throughout the month of March and throughout the year!

March is National Nutrition Month!
The 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans focus on balancing calories with physical activity, and encourage Americans to eat healthier foods like vegetables, fruits, whole grains, fat-free and low-fat dairy products, and seafood, and to consume less sodium, saturated and trans fats, added sugars, and refined grains.
Below are some tips that help consumers translate the Dietary Guidelines into their everyday lives:
Dental Screenings and Physical Exams
Dental screenings and school physicals will be conducted in the Spring. If we have not received a private dental or physical form for your child and they are in need of either one, permission forms were sent home for these important screenings to be completed at school. Please return permission forms as soon as possible so we can plan accordingly for our school dentist and school physician visits.
WHILE WE ARE ALL LOOKING FORWARD TO SPRING, IT IS IMPORTANT TO KNOW THAT COLDS AND FLU VIRUSES ARE STILL WIDESPREAD IN OUR AREA. STAYING HEALTHY TAKES TIME AND EFFORT. CLICK BELOW FOR 10 TIPS TO HELP KEEP YOUR CHILDREN AND YOURSELF ILLNESS FREE.
