English - We finish our topic of fables this week looking at the story of The Boy Who Cried Wolf. We were great at remembering the story and retelling it to each other! We also continued to work on using inverted commas. We used speech bubbles to support us before writing out speech in a sentence.
Reading - Every Wednesday, we change our bug club books and library books if needed before having some time to do some silent reading. We have also finished our class reader which was called The Iron Man and have started our new book called The Sheep Pig.
Maths - We also finished our topic of place value this week. Using our place value knowledge, we were able to estimate where numbers would go on a number line. We have been revising over place value during morning tasks.
Science - Science this half term is all about rocks! We have learnt about the three different types of rocks – igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic. We searched the school yard for different types of rocks before we used adjectives to describe them. We then went back to the classroom to look at different types of rocks and what their purpose might be before grouping the rocks in a table based on things like the way they look, feel, their weight and many more.
P.E - We have worked on teamwork this week in P.E. In groups of three, we had to throw the ball to each other and catch. If you caught the ball on the tenth catch, you had to run and collect a cone for your group. The group with the most cones won.
