The new Palmer Museum of Art opened in June to great fanfare and critical acclaim. Located next to the Penn State Arboretum off Park Avenue, the new building has larger gallery spaces, abundant natural light, better teaching spaces, and displays that highlight more recent acquisitions in the museum’s collection such as African art and glass. The museum has witnessed record attendance this fall, and immediately became an essential part of art history classes and museum studies internships. Below are some pictures that highlight the ways art historians are using the new Palmer.
