The Eaglecrest Raptors Soar to their Third State Championship Victory In a Stunning Finish Against Valor

Eaglecrest defeated Valor Christian in the 6A Class State Championship, capturing their third state title since 2013 and first since 2017. Anthony Nettles was the leading scorer for the Raptors, putting up 14 points in the game. The hard-fought championship game on March 15th ended with a 65-63 Raptors victory.

The sense of accomplishment from the Eaglecrest community has been especially savoring after last year’s heartbreaking buzzer-beater loss in the Final Four. The sudden departure of star LaDavian King prompted the squad – specifically the remaining seniors and high-profile transfer Nettles – to be even more motivated to return with a vengeance and a drive to finally claw in the championship they could only hover over.
