Hello Beautiful People!
My name is Suzanne Ng and I own Je m'adore fine art portraits, a premier portrait studio located in the south end of Ottawa, in the community of Hunt Club East. Through a passion for photography and a desire to help women to discover their inner and outer beauty, I have cultivated a strong business presence helping women worldwide to truly believe in their beauty. EVERY woman deserves to look and feel beautiful. Boudoir is more than just pretty or sexy photos, it’s about self-love, empowerment and embracing who you are right NOW in this moment.
I want to take the most beautiful photograph that you have ever seen of you and your love.
Let's make your vision and your expression of love come to life!
WHAT TO EXPECT:
We start with an in-person consultation at the studio to get to know each other and establish that initial bond. Together we discuss ideas and thoughts about what you want to achieve with your personalized session. I am here for you both every step of the way to make sure that you feel prepared and comfortable during this whole process. Consultations and sessions are by appointment only. Studio hours are Monday to Friday from 10:30am to 4pm; however, I am willing to accommodate evening appointments for consultations and viewings.
After slipping on a satin robe and given a light refreshment of your choice we will meet to go over the plan. Together we will go through the wardrobe you brought, choose your best looks, and discuss the specifics of your session with a visual storyboard created especially for you. Our amazing hair & makeup artist, Ariana, will pamper HER in-studio with the most glamourous makeover (complete with lashes).
For HER, we have a selection of accessories (in various sizes) such as: bodysuits, garters, robes as well as a collection of high heels. Because of their intimate nature, lingerie apparel such as bras & panties must be supplied by the client.
Your 2 hour session will begin immediately after the glam makeover is done. I will capture a variety of looks for you, incorporating up to 3 outfits. If our time goes over, no biggie... YOU are my only client for that day and my ONLY focus!
A week after your session you will both return to the studio to view your proofs. Using a wall projector, I will show you a personalized music video slideshow featuring a selection of your greatest images and then we will go through your images one by one to select the ones you can't live without and the perfect package that suits your needs and your budget.
Beautiful hand retouching on every single one of your purchased images. We will discuss specifically how much or how little you want things retouched, such as: pimples, scars, bruises, stray hairs, stretch marks, and smoothing body lines (and yes, it's not uncommon for guys to request some retouching too).
"LOVE doesn't make the world go around. LOVE is what makes the ride worthwhile."
Enjoy some treats while you get pampered by your hair and makeup artist. Why not? It's YOUR day! You deserve a treat!
Help! I don't know what to wear!
What to wear depends entirely on you - what kind of look you envision for yourself, what are you comfortable wearing.
- Dress shirt/T-shirt/Shirtless with jeans: simple, strong, classic.
- Unbuttoned collared shirt: provides texture, allows for layering, keeps things relaxed but intentional.
- Boxer briefs or well-fitting underwear ---> instead of baggy boxers
- Another option for men is wear boxers (like Calvins) with or without jeans
- Boxers: choose solid, neutral colours; AVOID bright colours, large logos or distracting patterns; make sure they are not too loose or tight
- Coordinated look with partner: For a couples shoot you’ll want style cohesion ---> colours/complementary textures rather than full matching.
WHAT'S REALLY FUN? Starting off dressed to the NINES (him in a suit, her in a sexy dress) for some classy, glam portraits to start and then SLOWLY peeling the layers off each other. OH LA LA!
WHAT TO AVOID?
- Loud or bright patterns / neon colours: They draw attention away from the mood and connection.
- Sports jerseys, graphic tees
- Shorts
HOW MEN SHOULD PREPARE
- Men should hydrate and moisturize from head to toe
- If thinking about a facial, please have one at least two weeks before the shoot to avoid rashes.
- Get a solid night’s sleep and avoid heavy alcohol and salty foods the evening before (so they feel fresh).
- On the day of: come comfortable, wear loose-fitting clothes to the studio (so no marks or tight lines are left on body) ---> AVOID WEARING SOCKS BEFOREHAND!
- Remind your partner that the session is about connection and comfort, not “perfect abs.” Encourage being relaxed, authentic, and present. It’s completely natural to be nervous… once you get over the initial nervousness … that’s when the love and affection are captured.
- For guys who may feel “out of their element” (less experience in front of the camera), rest assured that I will guide the posing and encourage you both.
- If prone to DRY LIPS, never pull off the dry skin! Instead put Vasoline on them at bedtime then lightly exfoliate them with a clean, wet cloth the next morning.
HOW WOMEN SHOULD PREPARE
- Exfoliate & moisturize your body, face and lips.
- Wear loose clothing beforehand (NO SOCKS or tight elastics) and try on ALL of your lingerie to make sure they fit well.
- Take care of any personal grooming: legs, armpits & bikini area. If you wax, please do so a few days beforehand to give the skin time to settle down. If you shave, please do so the day of the session. Use your skimpiest panty or bodysuit as a bikini area guide!
- Make sure your nails (fingers AND toes) are pretty. Polish suggestions: nude, neutral colours, or clear gloss. Dark colours work, just avoid bright, bold colours (like fire engine red, hot pink or neons). When choosing a colour, think about what lip colour you might go with (ie. neutral pink or deep red) or what colour would go best with the majority of your lingerie pieces.
- Make sure your eyebrows are nicely groomed.
