SHOOTING STARS (Metal and Melancholy) - 2017, is a performance/installation that comes in response to the different landscapes the artists have experienced and observed, flown over and travelled, the densely populated and the deserted.It is an abstract object that addresses that on-the-road experience, of metal and melancholy, through live music and a visual component that evokes a yearning for speed and dictates immersion and loneliness, even when we are not alone. An interior landscape that is noisy, mirrored, poetic, with two people together, silent and listening.
Ana Borralho & João Galante are looking for an art that communicates directly with the audience. They have devised several pieces in which the spectator intervenes, sees up close, gets down on the floor next to the performers or swaps places with them. In this piece, after several years in transit between performances all over the world, on the road and in the air, the two of them are back together.
Borralho & Galante studied visual arts, but they stand out above all for their performative work and stage creation, in transdisciplinary projects that explore hybrid forms and different practices.
The play lasts 2 hours. Spectators are free to move around, enter, leave or lie down in the space for the duration of the piece.

LIGHT 6 pin spot pointing at the performers mirror helmets (the projectors can be hanged or on tripods)
INSTRUMENTS and PROPS* transported by the team: 1 electric guitar, 1 synthetizer, 1 Laptop computer, 7 guitar pedals, 2 moto bike mirrored helmets
on the part of the host: 1 piano + 1 chair (for the pianist) + 1 small box or table approximately 42cm high x 40cm large x 40cm lengh (for the synth) + 1 small chair or box around 32cm high (seat for the guitarrist) + 1 guitar amp + 1 mic to amplify the guitar amp + 2 mics to amplify the piano + PA.
LODGES 1 for two people
TEAM 2 artistic directos/performers, 1 production manager.
*It is the responsibility of the host organization to tune the piano on the day of the performance.
