Earl Lewis

I am an Osher student and came in today to get help with my computer. Earl Lewis is the one who helped me with it and it was such a pleasant experience. He was really helpful and great to work with! Thanks!

Bobby Hayes

Mac - I want to send a note of special recognition for Bobby Hayes who has been so helpful to me in the past week, regarding the operations of secondary computers in my research lab. Not only is he knowledgeable and a good communicator, but he is one of the most friendly and supportive people on campus. I truly appreciate his commitment to the institution in how he supports individual faculty such as me. While the work may continue this week, I just wanted to share how helpful Bobby has been to my continued research effort.

Wilbert Thacker

Just dropping you a quick note about Wilbert. He did an outstanding job of coordinating the tech move within the Law School. It was no easy task to coordinate the move between the Refectory and the Law School, but also those who were moving around in the building itself. He showed grace and professionalism when faculty and staff asked questions and helped move things around when needed after the delivery. It's a pleasure to work with great colleagues.

Mason Cox

Mason is amazing. He was a great hire! There's always a few MVPs that make a huge difference to our success -- and I think he's one of them.

Wilbert Thacker

I hope this day finds you well. I'm writing and should have done so earlier to acknowledge your team of professionals. This past summer, the A&S Dean's Office underwent renovation/upgrades to staff offices. New offices were created, new carpeting was installed, and so much more. For us to successfully navigate through the process - computers, monitors, and telephones were constantly on the move. Your team was outstanding - patient, patient, patient (double-desk monitors not responding).
Wilbert Thacker spent quality time with me in the A&S Dean's Office, removing and reinstalling the computers/monitors on four different desks at three other times. He assisted without a grumble with loading the equipment from the desk onto the A&S Conference Room via a cart and back - untangling cable and reattaching. On one occasion, Wilbert rearranged his schedule to come help us out.
I've been working for the University since 2008 -- your team has been outstanding in teaching and guiding me through the years. Thank you for all!

John Reeves

Only a few weeks into Fall semester 2023 and the projector that we use and depend upon daily in our computer classroom in Richmond Hall suddenly stopped working. Panic ensued! Fortunately, John Reeves was on the job that day and answered our frantic call for help. Not only did he personally deliver a mobile projector until a replacement projector could be installed, he emailed detailed instructions WITH photos explaining its operation to faculty/staff. "I continue to be amazed at the level of support, resources, and responsively we are privileged to have here at Richmond," said Jane Berry, Psychology Department Chair. Thanks to John's quick response and attention, a replacement projector was installed within two days. CRISIS AVERTED!!

The TMSS Team

The team at Information Services went above and beyond in helping the UR Faculty and Staff Symposium run smoothly! They offered great guidance throughout the process, troubleshooting in advance and on event day. Particular thanks to Susan Kirby, Pam Harper, and Mark Nichols for coordinating everything, and to the techs Bryan Gallagher, Matt Dueling, John Reeves, and Mathew Jean-Baptiste who checked all the systems, got computers and screens to cooperate, found screen clickers, set up Zooms, and kept everything running smoothly. On a day when IS already had many demands on the team's time, they made it work. Thank you!

Mike Koontz

Troy - I wanted to take a moment to let you know how much Admission and Enrollment Management (EM) appreciates Mike Koontz' support to build an EM Dossier. While we continue to be very happy with Slate for our day-to-day operations, we rely solely on ROADS for historical reporting and comparative multi-year analysis and updates to various stakeholders including the Board of Trustees, the President's cabinet and external agencies. In a year with many changes across the national college admission landscape, we needed to revise and enhance some of our reports to meet professional guidelines and Mike has been most accommodating. Support from your IS team facilitates our work greatly. It's been a pleasure to work with you and many of your colleagues over the years.

Susan Kirby and John Reeves

Thank you for making the Jepson Scholars Foundation Board meeting a success! John set up the requested technology and assisted Dean Peart and Mr. Jepson with their computer needs. I always know I am in good hands when John works on my events. I look forward to working with him again on Friday for the Jepson EBA meeting. Many thanks!

Greg Miller, Network Team, and Help Desk

Hi Greg - THANK YOU for so much!!! I cannot express how much this means and how appreciative I am. I had a hard drive crash and lost all my documents, so having access to [my UR alumni email account] has made my entire year. Who do I talk to to ask for your departments to get you a raise? (Seriously, I am not joking!)
