Wattles Gazette 09.05.23

We had the most wonderful first week of school last week! A huge shoutout to the Wattles staff for their efforts ensuring that all students had a safe and enjoyable week. Thank you, parents, for your help moving traffic in and out of the parking lot quickly and safely.

Curriculum Night is tomorrow, September 6th (see schedule below). In order to you to have dedicated time with your child's teacher, this is a parent only event. Students should not be left unattended in centrums.

Please be sure that you have opted-in or opted-out for breakfast which begins tomorrow. See additional information below.

There are numerous enrichment activities listed at the end of the Gazette. Many are held at Wattles. Please see the STEM & Robotics class offered by our very own Mrs. Menghini.

Arrival & Dismissal Updates

  • Thank you for your patience with arrival and dismissal last week. Please remember that all students need to exit vehicles at drop off in the morning on the passenger side. It is not safe for students to exit on the drivers side. If that is not possible, please park your car, and walk your child to the entrance of the school.
  • Grade 5 safety patrol students will be assisting students out of vehicles (in the morning) and into vehicles (in the afternoon) to speed up the arrival and dismissal process.
  • Alternative transportation arrangements reminder: If your child will be going home a different way from their typical routine, please be sure to write a note to your child's teacher and place in their red communication folder.

Breakfast Starts Tomorrow!

Families will have the opportunity to opt-in or opt-out to breakfast this year at any time. By clicking "yes" on the survey (see QR code below), your child(ren) will receive a bagged breakfast daily. There isn't a menu option for breakfast, all children receive the same meal (see below). Per legislation, students cannot be denied breakfast unless parents opt-out or notify the school. Breakfasts are delivered to classrooms first thing in the morning.

Use QR code to opt-in OR opt-out at any point throughout the school year.

Specials, recess, and lunch times are below. Please do NOT drop off lunch to your child. All lunches should come with students to school in the morning.
