Kids making a difference

At Ivy Creek Elementary School, we believe that leadership and compassion start early—and our students are living proof! This week, we’re proud to highlight the amazing ways our kids are making a difference in their communities.

From organizing donation drives in order to help support local causes to spreading kindness throughout the school, their actions remind us all that kindness and initiative know no age limit.

Fourth grade students at Ivy Creek Elementary are finding out that you don't have to be an adult to make a difference. They have an amazing opportunity to help support two local organizations who make a difference in the community. Students in fourth grade are beginning to collect canned and boxed dry goods to support The Pantry at Hamilton Mill. Clothes and other items are being collect for Fostering Hope Clothes Closet. They are learning that you don't have to be a hero to make a different but to simply do something extraordinary.

Fostering Hope Clothes Closet

Fostering Hope Clothes Closet provides new and gently used clothes and shoes for foster children, domestic violence victims, children in the school systems and families in need. We strive to provide these essential items to our community to help ease the burden of expense and build confidence.

The Pantry is one of the largest food banks in Northeast Georgia, distributing more than one million pounds of quality food to our community each year.

The Kindness Campaign

The kindness campaign is a great way to promote a positive and inclusive environment. The goal will be to practice acts of kindness, build empathy, and foster a supportive school community.

Students will be encouraged to help spread kindness around the school. Posters and fun activities will be available to them.

Let's make school a positive place where kindness leads the way.
