CLERK'S CORNER

Planning Commissioner Vacancy

The City of Lake Elsinore is now accepting applications for an upcoming vacancy on the Planning Commission. One District 4 seat is available, with a term ending December 31, 2028. The Planning Commission helps guide the City’s future by reviewing development proposals, land use policies, and community planning efforts. Commissioners serve as an advisory body to the City Council and ensure projects align with the City’s General Plan. Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements outlined in the Lake Elsinore Municipal Code. You must be at least 18 and either live in Lake Elsinore or own a licensed business within the City. City officers, employees, or individuals under City Council contract are not eligible. All members must complete a routine background check conducted by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office. The Commission meets on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 6 p.m. in the Cultural Center at 183 North Main Street. Applications are due by Friday, December 26, 2025 at 4 p.m. and may be submitted online, by email, or by mail:

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

BUSINESS IN ACTION SPOTLIGHT

The City of Lake Elsinore has named Embroidery and More as the November 2025 Business in Action Spotlight through the Building Better Businesses initiative. Known for its creativity and strong community partnerships, the shop supports local schools, teams, and nonprofits through custom apparel, sponsorships, and donations. Embroidery and More also participates in the Pay It Forward program, which donates letterman jackets to students at all three Lake Elsinore high schools. The business is celebrated for its excellent customer service, inclusive hiring practices, and commitment to local job training. At the November 18 City Council meeting, Mayor Brian Tisdale praised the business for embodying Lake Elsinore’s spirit of creativity, service, and community pride.

COMMUNITY EVENTS

FLURRY FRIDAYS

Flurry Fridays are coming to Downtown Lake Elsinore for the first time this December. Each Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., families can enjoy 20-minute snowfall sessions at the top of every hour at the Christmas Tree in Gediman’s Square, located at 184 N. Main Street. This new addition to our holiday lineup offers a fun and festive way to kick off the weekend all month long.

HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION EVENT

Safely dispose of items like paint, batteries, motor oil, pesticides, and more. This free event is for residential hazardous waste only—no commercial waste accepted.

FOOD TRUCK FESTIVAL

The Lake Elsinore Food Truck Festival takes place every Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Seaport Boat Launch, located at 500 W. Lakeshore Drive. Hosted by Wanderlust Events, this weekly gathering features a rotating lineup of food trucks offering a wide variety of cuisines and sweet treats. Residents and visitors are invited to enjoy a casual evening by the lake while exploring new flavors in a fun, family-friendly setting. Admission is free, and ample parking is available on site.

LAKE ELSINORE WATER QUALITY UPDATE

As part of our ongoing water quality monitoring program, we are pleased to report that Lake Elsinore currently has no active water quality warnings or advisories in place. Conditions are safe, and the lake is open for recreational use.

We encourage residents and visitors to come out and enjoy all that Lake Elsinore has to offer, including boating, fishing, and lakeside activities. Our team continues to closely monitor the lake to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

The City will continue to test the water on a weekly or bi-weekly basis at this time and will post regular updates on the lake conditions as lab results are received.

COMMUNITY NEWS

Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District (EVMWD) is proud to celebrate 75 years of delivering reliable water and wastewater services to the community. Established in 1950 with just 500 connections serving 8,500 people, EVMWD now supports over 163,000 customers across the region. EVMWD is honored to serve our community, and we look forward to the next 75 years of providing reliable water and wastewater services to the Elsinore Valley.

Bill Assistance Through the Energy Assistance Fund

Southern California Edison is committed to helping our customers whenever possible. Working together with the United Way, we offer financial relief through the Energy Assistance Fund (EAF) to customers struggling to pay their electricity bills. The fund provides an opportunity for qualified households to receive up to a $200 payment (or up to $300 for an all-electric household) to be applied toward their SCE energy bill.

Income Qualification Guidelines

Based on the actual amount owed, (the Energy Assistance Fund offers payments up to $200 (available once during a 12-month period).

To qualify, the following requirements must apply:

  • The applicant is a current SCE residential customer
  • The applicant’s name matches the name on the bill
  • The address on the bill is the applicant’s primary residence
  • The total household income falls within the income guidelines

TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY

WINTERFEST

Join us in Historic Downtown Lake Elsinore on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 4 to 9 PM for Winterfest 2025. This free community celebration features the Winterfest Parade beginning at 5:15 PM, a festive vendor marketplace, a snowy sled run, and plenty of holiday activities for all ages. Enjoy an evening filled with seasonal magic, twinkling lights, and family-friendly fun. Bundle up, bring your holiday spirit, and make lasting memories at this can’t-miss winter celebration.

BREAKFAST WITH SANTA

Kick off the holiday season with the most magical breakfast of the year. Join us at the Lake Elsinore Diamond Stadium for Breakfast with Santa, where holiday smiles and sweet memories are always on the menu. Start the morning with Donuts with Santa at 7:30 AM for $5 per person, or enjoy our Pancake Breakfast at 9:30 AM for $9 per person. SANTA DASH

Join us for the 5K Santa Dash on December 20, 2025, at the Lake Elsinore Levee, located at 500 Diamond Drive. This festive fun run is a free community event, but pre-registration is required for all participants. Check-in begins at 6:30 AM, and the run starts promptly at 7:00 AM. Come dressed in your most spirited Santa gear — costumes, jingles, bright red suits, and all the holiday cheer you can bring. Prizes will be awarded to the most festive participants, so don’t be afraid to go all out.
