Subject Line: Thank You for Meeting with United to Beat Malaria
Body:
Dear [Staffer Name],
On behalf of United to Beat Malaria, we would like to thank [Rep/Senator’s office] for meeting with us today to discuss the vital role Congress plays in the fight against malaria. We appreciate your support of critical malaria intervention programs, like the U.S. President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI); CDC’s Division of Parasitic Diseases and Malaria; the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria; Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance; and UNICEF. These programs have saved over 11 million lives in the past two decades. In addition, they help build more stable and resilient economies and workforces, they lead to fewer missed school and workdays, and they empower local health systems to respond to infectious disease outbreaks.
Malaria is a preventable and treatable disease, and with Congress’ support and strong U.S. leadership, we can be the generation to end malaria. We kindly ask that the office support our requests for robust funding for bilateral and multilateral malaria programs.
If you have additional questions about the work of United to Beat Malaria, or the programs we support, please reach out to Jessica Pavel (jpavel@betterworldcampaign.org).
Thank you,
