Adventure Leadership Trips: Fall 2023

Did you know the ESRC has an Adventure Center?

How do I get there? When you arrive at the ESRC, walk to the back towards the climbing wall and you’ll find the Adventure Center and Adventure Leadership Program staff to help you find your next adventure!

Friday Floats: September 1st, 8th and 15th

Join us for a nice trip paddling on the Tar River in Greenville, NC from 3:00pm-7:00pm. This event is FREE for students! Transportation and boats will be provided, plus our awesome instructional staff will be there to teach the strokes. Don't forget a water bottle and sunscreen!

Sunday SUP: Sunday, September 3rd

Have you always wanted to try stand-up paddle boarding? Join us on our Sunday SUP trip! Come with us to Little Washington from 9:00am-2:00pm to learn how to stand-up paddle board. Transportation and gear will be provided and our staff will be there to help! The event cost is $15 for students and $20 for members.

Zip Thursdays: September 7th, 14th, and 28th

Check out the Zip Line at the North Recreational Complex from 4:00pm-7:00pm! All gear is provided, however you are responsible for your own transportation to NRC. This event is FREE for students and $10 for non-members.

Horseback Riding on the Beach: Sunday, September 17th

Ready to try something new? Come with us to go horseback riding in Frisco, NC on the beautiful beaches of the Outer Banks! This is an all day event with transportation provided. This event has a 200 lb weight limit. The cost is $150 for students and $160 for members.

Beach Day: Sunday, September 17th

Come spend a Sunday at the beach with us from 9:00am-2:00pm. We will spend half the day touring Fort Macon State Park and the other half relaxing at Atlantic Beach. Transporation will be provided. Don't forget to bring water, sunscreen, a towel, and bag lunch. The event cost is $15 for students and $20 for members.

Afternoon Hike: Wednesday, September 20th and Sunday, November 19th

Come on a FREE hike with us! We will be hiking through local recreational trails from 4:00pm-7:00pm. Transportation is provided. This event is FREE for students and $10 for non-members.

Family Floats: Sunday, September 24th

Bring your family for a nice relaxing trip down the Tar River from 10:00am-2:00pm! We will provide transportation, boats, and awesome staff to help learn the strokes. This event is FREE for students and members.

Skydiving: Saturday, September 30th

Ready to try something new? Spend the day skydiving over the North Carolina coastline! We will provide transportation to Beaufort, NC. This is a 9000ft jump followed by a free fall and canopy flight. The cost of this event is $250 for students and $260 for members.

Waterfall Wonders Fall Break: Saturday, October 7th through Tuesday, October 10th

Love waterfalls? Want to spend the entire weekend exploring Western NC’s waterfalls and hiking in the mountains? We will spend this trip camping at Table Rock State Park in South Carolina and head out each day to find the best waterfalls around Dry Fall, Bridal Veil Falls, and Turtleback Falls. Food, equipment, and transportation is provided. The cost for this event is $100 for students and $120 for members.

Fall Colors Hike: Saturday, October 14th

Take a day trip to Umstead State Park in Raleigh, NC to hike and look at the beautiful fall leaves! Transportation is provided on this guided hike. The cost for this event is $15 for students and $20 for members.

Zoo Day: Sunday, October 22nd

We will be spending the day at Asheboro Zoo to see different animals that can be found across the world! We will provide transportation. The cost for this event is $15 for students and $20 for members.

1907 Climbing Competition: Monday, November 6th through Friday, November 17th

Want to climb for competition? Participate in ECU's 1907 Climbing Competition by signing up at the Adventure Center starting 11/6 through 11/17 during normal hours. Teams can have up to 4 people and each team is limited no more than 1 climbing club member. All other rules will be explained upon sign-up. The cost is FREE for students and members!

Camping and Climbing: Saturday, November 11th through Sunday, November 12th

Come spend the weekend with us at Pilot Mountain State Park! We will camp for the weekend and spend the days climbing. Transportation, meals, and instruction are all included! The cost for this event is $75 for students and $85 for members.

You can register for these adventure trips and events and learn more on the CRW Member Portal at crwregistration.ecu.edu! Students/members are allowed to bring a guest to most of these events or trips for a fee (varies by event), be sure to visit the CRW Member Portal or our Adventure Center for more information!
