"CAUGHT IN THE ACT" TEACHING AWARDS

"Caught in the Act" recognizes WSSU faculty who are "caught" teaching in new, fun, innovative and transformative ways. CITI then acknowledges these faculty in three ways:

  • In our CITI Beat newsletter
  • At the end of the year, at our ACUE Awards Banquet or Adobe Bash Faculty Festival
  • With a small gift
Dr. Jeanine L. Couto

This month, CITI congratulates Dr. Jeanine L. Couto, Visiting Assistant Professor from the World Languages and Culture Department, for being our latest CITA Teaching Award recipient. Over Spring Break, Dr. Couto accompanied her students on a study abroad trip to Brazil. Enjoy highlights from the experience below:

PARABENS, DR. COUTO!

University College and the Department of Liberal Studies are partnering with the Center for Innovative and Transformative Instruction to offer post-traditional learners a pathway to degree completion. The Online Interdisciplinary Workforce Degree Pathways Project will position adult learners to specialize in different fields to enhance their employment options and increase their economic mobility. The courses in this new degree pathway will embody the critical workforce skills that employers desire and reflect the quality standards of online course design and instructional excellence. The focus this semester is course design for the Education Studies pathway. We are excited about this collaboration and its impact on student success.

TECHNOLOGY TOOL SPOTLIGHT: ADOBE PODCAST

Adobe has added podcasting to its collection. With Adobe Podcast, you can record, edit, and enhance your voice without software. To explore Adobe Podcast, click the hyperlink in the description.

In the podcast below, Dr. Michele Leverett chats with Mr. Jonathan Jones, Media Production Lab Technician, about the benefits of the Media Production Lab for faculty.

The Media Production Lab staff asks for at least 2 weeks lead time for instruction inquiries and 1-2 days for podcast or lightboard/video sessions. While the team will not edit the material for you, they are more than happy to guide you in the editing process.

For inquiries or consultations, contact Jonathan Jones at jonesjj@wssu.edu.
