HSAL NEWS
2026 (so far / what's next)
We're now halfway through the year and have found a "new normal". The first half of the year found us finishing out the inaugural season of "Held Note" - a super DIY concert series run with the support of a small lodge on a gorgeous campground here in Lynchburg. The back half of the year will see HSAL focusing on a few key releases:
This EP was born out of an idea for a 7" single that never materialized and, instead, morphed into the 35 minutes presented here. Three new TLVS originals with remixes from Portland's mayfairgrin and Past Inside The Present founder zakè. The vinyl version of this one will be available through Past Inside The Present or directly from the band at shows.
OK, so this isn't connected to TLVS per se, but Tina's become like family over the past year or so... This 7" single is the first physical offering from the Fredericksburg-based artist. It features a pair of live staples. We'd put the A-side up against most anything around for song of the year. Purchases also include a digital copy of their entire recorded catalog.
ON THE HORIZON
Steve Scott is currently collecting dreams, writings, and loops toward a new album tentatively titled "Nothing But The Blood". Should all the proper stars align, we'll have this new album in 2027. In regards to his last full-length ("The Way Of The Sevenfold Secret"), here's the bonus track that we recently posted on YouTube. Also, here's a swell little write-up Scott did to promote a film centered on the life of Lilias Trotter. Long-time fans are also celebrating the release of the 2xLP version of a pair of more band-oriented material from the very late 70's through Solid Rock Records.

HSAL: 2009 - 2025
Established in the fall of 2009, the Harding Street Assembly Lab (HSAL) was a small, physical media based label based in Lynchburg Virginia. Our goal was to bring some attention to the music that lived & frequented south central Virginia. Releases included talent local to our town, the surrounding towns, and friends made on tour stops, art shows, & over the internet.
While there will continue to be occasional action stirring in the HSAL camp, this page will serve as the memorial for a season when we were able to capture and corral interesting music happening from across the Commonwealth and beyond.
