THE HELD NOTE HAPPENING IN LYNCHBURG VA!
The spring side of the Held Note kicked off with an incredible evening at the Lodge of the Fishermen! Stellar ambience with sets from Philly's Soporus and our own TLVS (minus drums, plus vibes). Our local visual artist Joanna McGlothlin also debuted pieces from her collection at the show. This vibrant, colorful ensemble will be on exhibit for the rest of the Held Note season.

What began as a pair of long-form compositions drafted as a live set back in the autumn of 2024 grew into this series of meditations. When received in a single, roughly 30-minute sitting, the listener will be presented with a through line that bisects competing mindsets. No guidance or direction is provided and repeated listens may leave the listener in different heart spaces.

HSAL: 2009 - 2025
Established in the fall of 2009, the Harding Street Assembly Lab (HSAL) was a small, physical media based label based in Lynchburg Virginia. Our goal was to bring some attention to the music that lived & frequented south central Virginia. Releases included talent local to our town, the surrounding towns, and friends made on tour stops, art shows, & over the internet.
While there will continue to be occasional action stirring in the HSAL camp, this page will serve as the memorial for a season when we were able to capture and corral interesting music happening from across the Commonwealth and beyond.
