“You provide a broad path for my feet, so that my ankles do not give way.”‭‭2 Samuel‬ ‭22‬:‭37‬ ‭NIV
Thank you God for the strength you give my legs to keep running.

Since 2018 I began running a race aligned with God's plan to prepare me to go and make disciples in a specific nation. You, who have walked alongside me, know both the trials and the goodness I have experienced on this journey. I am aware that this is a race that requires time, perseverance, faith and patience.

The support you have given me through your prayers, financial support, and words of encouragement has been fundamental for me. Knowing that I am not alone and that you have also obeyed the mandate by joining me in this mission has been an encouragement.

I want to share with you about the process I am currently in, as well as the next steps I will be taking.

In order to be part of the work team that is currently in China and that is waiting for an opportunity to enter NK, it is necessary to be a formal member of the Pioneers missionary agency.

In previous letters I shared with you that I am in the process of preparing myself as a candidate to become an official member of this agency. This process consists of several stages: some of them I have already completed, but I still have others to complete.

I appreciate your prayerful support to move forward with the following pending requirements:

1. Complete training with the PIMEX community in Chihuahua (pending).

2. Bible/Theology studies (I have already started; there are 7 courses I must study).

3. Complete all the evaluations required by the agency: biblical, English, psychological, psychometric, among others.

In addition, I need to process the visa for Mexico and China, which must be done from Venezuela. For this reason, I plan to travel to Venezuela on June 12.

I want to share the reasons why I should travel to Venezuela.
  • I need to spend some time with my family before leaving for China, since once there I will not be able to return to Venezuela for a minimum of three years or more; it all depends on certain circumstances.
  • I must apply for the visa for Mexico, in order to go and complete the on-site training.
  • I must apply for the visa for China, and it can only be done from my home country, not from another country.
  • Finally, I must complete my Bible studies in person at the Bible Seminary in Caracas, which is a fundamental part of my ministerial preparation.

My time in Venezuela will be essential to advance in the process of preparation for the work entrusted to me.

For those of us who wish to serve for a long time in NK, it is necessary to invest time, dedication and financial resources.

The situation in Venezuela continues to be difficult, with a high level of hyperinflation. However, my trust is in the Lord. I believe that the same God who has taken care of me and provided for me is the same God who will continue to take care of me wherever I go.

I have always seen Venezuela as a faith training school.

Why China?

There is Yanji: border city with NK. And there is my team, most of them are the ones who were with me in Taebaek-South Korea.

This is one of the work bases.

Bible Studies

In April I began my Bible studies, as part of the requirements to be part of the Pioneers missionary agency. The obligatory courses that I must take are the following:

1. Overview of the Old Testament

2. Overview of the New Testament

3. Hermeneutics

4. Systematic Theology

5. Apologetics

6. Elective in Theology

7. Elective in Bible

I am enrolled in the Biblical Seminary of Caracas, where I have excellent professors. I feel very grateful to God for the opportunity to do these biblical studies from my own country.

I have started two courses in online mode, which are dictated in the afternoon, but, because of the time zone for me is from 12:00 to 2:30 a.m. Although it is a challenge because of the schedule, this will only be until my return to Venezuela.

From April 12 to 18, I had the opportunity to travel to Armenia to receive the security training given by Concilium. First of all, I want to express my gratitude for your prayers; I felt God's care and guidance at every moment, and I was able to fully enjoy the training.

I am grateful to God for allowing me to meet Alexas again to share this experience together. The training was excellent and very complete, since we not only received theoretical teaching, but also practical, which was a great blessing. I learned a lot about what to do to mitigate the risks in case of bombings, kidnapping, rape, persecution, robbery, war, etc.

Meeting Alexas at the airport

The course was attended by workers from various nations, including Nepal, India, Iran, Lebanon, the United States and Armenia. It was a privilege to share with workers called to serve in Iran and to hear how God is touching the hearts of Iranians.

We also shared with a pastor from Lebanon who is very passionate about the ministry. God is doing something special in that nation as well.

On the last day of the training, a group of brothers and sisters from Armenia invited us to tour the city and share a time of koinonia. I give glory to God for that wonderful time of fellowship and mutual edification.

Practice: Pretending to be at the immigration office and being bribed (I was called to the office but didn't know what it was about until I realized it was a bribe).
This was one of the contents that we were studying.

As part of the Pioneers missionary agency training, I participated in a two-day course focused on the use of business and NGOs as platforms for missions. The course was taught by a person with extensive experience in the area, who made the content very enjoyable and interesting. Among the topics we studied were the theology of work, the importance of getting involved in the marketplace and how to integrate church planting with the Marketplace among others.

In my case, my team uses an NGO as a platform, which has allowed many workers to legally enter NK. In addition, there is a company in the footwear area, tourism agency and I also work in the health area. Let us pray that God will continue to give strategies and open doors in that place, so that we can be witnesses of His love.

Thankful for another year of life.

On April 10, I celebrated my 46th birthday with my family, who prepared a delicious breakfast for me (arepas, the traditional food of my country).

We had a nice time of sharing together. It was a very special moment, full of kindness.

Thanks to God

Thank God for one more year of life and for allowing me to enjoy this day with my family.

Thank you God for allowing me to go through the safety training, to keep my exit and entrance and to be able to understand and enjoy it.

Thank you God for every person who supports me with their prayers, finances and word of encouragement.

Thank you God because you give me the strength to keep moving forward with perseverance and faith.

How to continue to remember me in prayer?

May she love our Lord more, with surrender. Love His Word, long for His presence, experience His joy, and be a good steward for His glory.

Pray for perseverance, patience, and faith.

Wisdom to continue learning the Korean language.

Pray for my re-entry process with my family, church and friends.

God provide finances for: visa and complete the budget for the different trips.

God give me wisdom to complete my bible studies.

Humility, submission and absolute dependence on God.
