2026-2027 School year

The 2026–2027 school calendar has been approved and submitted to the Office of Catholic Schools. We know having key dates early helps everyone begin thinking about the rhythm of the coming year. A Year-at-a-Glance calendar will be shared soon, but we wanted to make sure you had the most important dates now. The first day of school for students will be August 12, 2026, and the last day will be May 28, 2027.

PRINCIPAL'S DESK

Dear Bluejay Family, As we look back on this past weekend, I want to offer a heartfelt thank you to the many volunteers who made the Bluejay Bash such a tremendous success. Day 1 began with a beautiful Golf Tournament at Cane Row Golf Club. We are grateful to the many volunteers who helped organize the event, welcome players, manage registration, and keep things running smoothly throughout the day. Your generosity and hospitality made it a wonderful experience for everyone who participated. Day 2 brought the celebration to campus, and what a joyful day it was. From the cook-off and concessions to Bougie Bingo and The Nest, an amazing time was had by all. So many hands worked behind the scenes—setting up, cooking, serving, organizing, and cleaning up afterward. Because of you, our families and guests were able to enjoy a day filled with fun, fellowship, and Bluejay spirit. Today’s Gospel tells the story of Jesus healing the man born blind. While many around him debated what had happened, the man revealed with simple clarity that he was blind, but now he could see. Sometimes in our own lives, we can feel a bit like those who stood around arguing in the story—confused, overwhelmed, or struggling to see clearly what God is doing. In those moments, it may be helpful to pray for the same simple clarity the healed man experienced: Lord, help me see. Help me see the good that is right in front of me. Help me see the ways You are working through the people around me. Help me see the gifts I might otherwise overlook. This weekend was full of those gifts. Parents, grandparents, alumni, faculty, and friends came together generously in support of St. Cecilia. In the busyness of life, it can be easy to miss the goodness that surrounds us, but moments like this weekend give us the opportunity to pause and recognize it. Thank you again to everyone who volunteered, supported, and participated. Your generosity continues to strengthen our school and reminds us all of the many blessings within our Bluejay community.

Grace & Peace, Erin B. Henry Principal

“One thing I do know is that I was blind and now I see.” – JOHN 9:25.
ANNOUNCEMENTS

Please Welcome

We are proud to announce Justin Gabriel as our new Athletic Director! A native of Youngsville, Justin is a graduate of Comeaux High School and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He has been actively involved in coaching and managing youth sports for the past six years and has a strong passion for developing young athletes both on and off the field. Justin and his family are active members of the St. Cecilia community. He has two daughters currently attending St. Cecilia: Elliana, a 5th grader who participates in volleyball, softball, soccer, and track, and Olivia, a 2nd grader. Justin has also served the school this season as the 5th grade volleyball and softball coach. As you all know, his wife, Megan, currently serves our school community as an administrative assistant in our front office. Justin shares, “I am grateful for the opportunity to begin this new chapter as Athletic Director of the Bluejays. I look forward to helping guide our student-athletes to become saints through discipline, teamwork, sacrifice, and the pursuit of excellence for the glory of God, while positioning each sport for athletic success and preparation for the next level.” Please join us in congratulating and supporting Justin as he begins this important role in our Bluejay community! We are also extremely grateful that Coach Payton will remain part of our team for as long as she is able, continuing to share her experience and dedication with our Bluejays.

3rd grade service project

Continue saving your pop tabs from any canned product (sodas, canned foods). We will also accept metal bottle tops. The aluminum pop tabs are recycled, just like you would recycle plastic containers or newspapers. The money generated from recycling the tabs is used in a general operating budget to ensure that the Ronald McDonald House remains open for families of sick or injured children.  Bring them in the week of April 27. There will be special collection containers near the gym.  Please contact Mrs. Gilberti bgilberti@scsbluejays.org or Mrs.Williamson kwilliamson@scsbluejays.org if you have any questions. Keep collecting!!!!
