God's Word

Romans 12:4-8 HCSB

4 Now as we have many parts in one body, and all the parts do not have the same function, 5 in the same way we who are many are one body in Christ and individually members of one another. 6 According to the grace given to us, we have different gifts: If prophecy, use it according to the standard of one’s faith; 7 if service, in service; if teaching, in teaching; 8 if exhorting, in exhortation; giving, with generosity; leading, with diligence; showing mercy, with cheerfulness.

What are you good at? How has God Gifted you? How can you use your gifts to share God's love with the world? Why is it good that everyone has different gifts?

Family Gifts

Supplies: Markers, craft sticks, paper bags

God has given each one of us different gifts and talents. Make a family gifts bag! Decorate a lunch bag so it looks like a gift bag. Have each member of your family decorate a craft stick with their name on it. Put the sticks in the decorated lunch bag. Each time you gather for a meal, take one stick out of the bag and offer a prayer of thanks for that person and share with that person something they are good at or how the family has seen them using their gifts.

Pray+ Bless

Prayer: Jesus, You are the greatest giver of gifts. Thank you for your great gift of love for us shown through the cross and empty grave. Help us to use our gifts to give honor to you. Amen.

Blessing: Circle up as a household. Pick someone to start the blessing. They say, "Jesus gifts us all. And that means me (place a hand on your chest). And that means you (place your other hand on the shoulder of the person next to you)". Pass the blessing by repeating those words and actions. When the blessing makes it back to the first person, they say, "Go and bless the world."
