  4. Kaneland High School is traveling to Europe!! We're thrilled to share that we're heading to Germany, Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, and Hungary in Summer 2027-and we'd love for your student to join us! The trip is open to all current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors. This EF Tour is an incredible opportunity for students to explore new places, experience different cultures, and gain lifelong skills like independence and confidence.   5. Join us for a special evening of KHS baseball as we celebrate our seniors at Northwestern Medicine Field (home of the Kane County Cougars) on Friday, May 22! The JV game kicks off at 4:30 p.m., followed by Senior Night activities and the Varsity contest at 7:15 p.m. Admission is $5 for students and adults (players in uniform are free). Most importantly, all gate and concession proceeds will be donated to a local family currently battling cancer. We hope to see you there for a great night of baseball and community support!   6. We are thrilled to announce that construction is officially beginning on our new elementary school playgrounds! These updated spaces are a vital investment in our students’ physical wellness and outdoor learning environments. To celebrate, we are hosting a "Groundbreaking Tour" and would love for you to join us: Monday, May 18: McDole Elementary, 1:45 p.m.; John Shields Elementary, 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, May 19: Blackberry Elementary, 1:00 p.m. John Stewart Elementary: 2:00 p.m. Each brief ceremony will take place in the school’s playground area. The Kaneland dress code will be updated for the 26-27 school year to outline expectations for student dress during the school day. These updates include specific examples and visual guides to help families and students understand the standards across all our buildings. Kaneland Harter Middle School held an 8th-grade Career Day with the support of Junior Achievement (JA) and VALEES!

KHS freshman Giovanna completed the read for the Illinois lifetime list!

This week, McDole's Project KC students participated in “Chalk the Walk,” spreading kindness messages all around the school sidewalks. Their positive words and creative messages helped brighten the day for students and staff and reminded our school community of the power of kindness. Check out our socials for more photos!

Kaneland Board

The next regular Kaneland Board of Education meeting takes place on Wednesday, May 27, at 7:00 p.m. at Kaneland Harter Middle School. Finance/Facility & Community Engagement Committees will meet at 6:00 p.m. prior to the board meeting. All of these meetings are open to the public.
