Setshaba Phalane, professionally known as SpaceSaveLogic, is a South African artist, producer, songwriter, and creative entrepreneur from Mamelodi, Pretoria. Widely recognized as the "Mamelodi Michael Jackson," he has built a reputation as one of the most versatile independent creatives emerging from South Africa's new generation of music talent. His musical journey began in 2013, fueled by a passion for storytelling, production, and artistic expression. Entirely self-taught, SpaceSaveLogic dedicated years to mastering music production through FL Studio, laying the foundation for a career defined by independence and innovation. His early releases, SpaceGod (2015) and SpaceGod 2 (2019), showcased his ability to seamlessly blend hip-hop, trap, and melodic influences while collaborating with notable artists such as 25K, TTGO, and Deeps (Ganja Beats). SpaceSaveLogic's breakthrough as a producer came when he co-produced the song "Trap Jumpin" alongside acclaimed producer Zoocci Coke Dope for 25K's debut album Pheli Makaveli. The project achieved Gold certification, earning him recognition as a Gold-Certified Producer and cementing his place among the leading creative talents to emerge from Mamelodi. In 2021, he expanded his profile through a feature on DJ Sabby's Next Up album, further demonstrating his versatility as both an artist and producer. As his catalog continued to grow, he remained committed to developing a unique sound that combines introspective storytelling, township realities, ambition, and personal growth. In 2023, SpaceSaveLogic released SpaceGod 3, a heartfelt tribute to the late Yamilo Beatz (Tumelo Vilakazi), featuring standout records such as "Tsako Pitori" and "Tsodiyo" featuring Ndukuman. The project highlighted his ability to transform personal experiences into powerful musical narratives while honoring the collaborators and community that shaped his journey. His growing influence has led to performances at respected South African platforms and venues including HomeComing Africa, Dihno Café, The Good Luck Bar, and Cofi Brooklyn. His work has also been featured by media platforms including Hype Magazine, SlikourOnLife, and Zkhiphani, alongside television appearances on YOTV and The Morning Show. His music has received radio support from YFM, Tuks FM, Ukhozi FM, and Massiv Metro. In 2025, SpaceSaveLogic further expanded his production credentials through his work with Dreyson and Sastii of The Qwellers, contributing to the growing wave of South African hip-hop talent reshaping the country's music landscape. These collaborations further showcased his versatility as a producer capable of working across different styles while maintaining his signature approach to storytelling and sound design. The same year, through B U Entertainment, he released "Money Talks" featuring Roman Bishop, a self-produced single exploring the relationship between money, ambition, sacrifice, and self-worth.
