Students Experience the Magic of Live Theatre
Otselic Valley students recently enjoyed additional performances from The REV Theatre Co., continuing a series of engaging arts-in-education experiences brought to our school this year. Our youngest Vikings in PreK and Kindergarten were treated to An Itsy Bitsy Play, where they followed the determined spider Philo on an adventure filled with music, puppetry, and audience participation. Through the story, students explored the importance of perseverance and the courage to keep trying. Second grade students also enjoyed The Magic Paintbrush, an interactive production based on the Chinese folktale. The performance highlighted themes of creativity, kindness, and using one’s talents to help others. High school students in grades 9-12 took part in Improv for All, an energetic and interactive program introducing the basics of improvisational theatre. Students learned valuable lessons about confidence, resilience, and stepping outside their comfort zones, with audience participation helping make the experience especially memorable. Many performances also included classroom visits from REV teaching artists, who introduced students to the stories and helped prepare them for the shows ahead of time.
Thank you to The REV Theatre Company for sharing these engaging arts-in-education experiences with our students.
