🧡 Who We Are + Why We Care
We’re Rich + Christa Clark — a blended and thriving couple from Tacoma, WA. For over a decade, we’ve served in the marriage and relationship space as volunteers. Today, we have the incredible honor of serving full-time with FamilyLife as local missionaries, focused on strengthening marriages and families across the Pacific Northwest. Our passion for this work isn’t theoretical — it’s personal. We were both previously married and experienced divorces we never wanted. We know the pain, the questions, and the ripple effects that follow. Our boys have walked through that story with us, too. Christa also came out of an abusive marriage. While abuse isn’t the majority of marriage stories, it’s more common than many people realize — even in the church. That part of our journey deeply shapes the way we care for couples: with honesty, compassion, and a commitment to safety. If you or someone you love is experiencing abuse, we’ve included trusted resources at the bottom of this page. Our heart is simple: We want to help couples not only avoid the heartbreak we experienced, but build marriages marked by friendship, resilience, and real JOY.
đź’Ľ What We Do
We serve as Field Ministry Leaders PNW. We help churches, volunteers, and communities come together to strengthen couples with tools that work in real life — practical marriage skills, uplifting encouragement, and gospel-centered hope.
Here’s how we live that out:
- Serving at Weekend to Remember® (WTR) events — weekend marriage retreats filled with practical tools, laughter, honest conversations, and spiritual renewal.
- Training & mobilizing volunteer teams across multiple cities to serve couples locally.
- Partnering with churches & community leaders to foster a healthy marriage movement in families and neighborhoods.
We’re on a mission to see the Pacific Northwest become known for healthy marriages and resilient families. Little pockets of hope grow into movements of encouragement, and those movements become communities where marriages are celebrated, strengthened, and supported. We do this not by force, but by building relationships, walking shoulder-to-shoulder with couples, and pointing them to practical tools and the hope of Jesus at every step.

Abuse & Safety
Abuse is a deeply serious topic for us. Before marrying Rich, I (Christa) was in an abusive marriage. That experience changed me — and it shapes how we approach marriage ministry today. While abuse is not the majority of marriage stories, it is far more common than many realize — including inside the church. Both women and men can experience abuse. When I was a young Christian wife, I didn’t understand:
- that abuse can take many forms (not just physical)
- the warning signs to look for before marriage
- where to turn for wise, safe support
- how to make a safety plan or advocate for myself
No one should have to figure those things out alone. We are committed to doing better — by talking about abuse honestly, by encouraging safety, and by pointing people toward trusted help. Below are a few resources we often recommend. While we haven’t examined every detail of each organization, we believe these are generally safe and helpful starting points.
