Men's Soccer Post Two Shutouts to Open 2023 Season

Team celebrates with Mario Simoes after his second goal against Thomas

The Men’s Soccer team kicked off the season taking down cross-town rival Thomas under the lights Tuesday with a 4-0 scoreline. Junior Mario Simoes got the Mules on the board for the lone goal of the first half, followed by another strike to open up the second. First-years Myles Culley and Nicholas Donnelly both added onto the lead during the 58th and 78th minute to give Colby a 4-0 finish.

To open conference play, Colby hosted Wesleyan Saturday on Mayflower Hill. The Mules and Cardinals both brought tight defense and physical play to the field but were unable to find the back of the net resulting in a 0-0 tie. Both teams receive a valuable point towards the NESCAC standings.
