“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” James 1:27 NIV
Throughout the Word of God, from the Old Testament to the New Testament, the Lord reminds us of His special care for widows. In previous letters, I mentioned that my former neighbor recently became a widow; she is also an orphan, since her parents passed away when she was very young, and she has no other family members. Her story is very sad. However, we know that God is good and faithful, and in His love, He has allowed me to walk alongside her during this time. A friend and I have been meeting with her, sharing the gospel with her. Last week she received Christ into her heart, to the glory of God. Now we are meeting to study the book of John together. She is very receptive and tells us how much she has enjoyed the time we’ve shared. I ask that you keep her in your prayers. Her name is Dulce Margarita. May the Lord grant her to grow in Christ and be established more and more in His grace each day.
“Let's fulfill God'd mission together”
“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” Proverbs 27:17 NIV
The mission God has entrusted to us is a task that is carried out as a team. This was one of the topics I was able to explore in a workshop, with the aim of sharing it with a beloved church. This is a way to encourage and engage the church, recognizing that the work belongs to everyone and that each person has a responsibility within the mission. I thank God for each person who participated, and my call is to everyone who reads this newsletter: may you get involved, wherever you are, and be part of what God desires—that everyone may know Him.
“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” Matthew 24:14 NIV
updates
This month I’ve been very busy gathering the documents that needed to be sent by the end of April to the team in Korea, who will be handling the visa application. It’s a slow and lengthy process, so I’ll have to wait between two and a half and three months to receive a response. The likely departure date for Korea would be in August, if everything goes according to God’s will. That same month, I must complete my theology courses. Therefore, I am continuing not only with my theological studies but also with learning Korean. I thank God because the NK prayer team has been faithful, and we are meeting every Wednesday.
Prayer Requests
- May I love our Lord more deeply, with all my heart. May I love His Word, long for His presence, and experience His joy. And may I be a faithful steward for His glory.
- Let us pray for perseverance, patience, and faith.
- Wisdom for continuing to learn Korean.
- Humility, submission, and complete dependence on God.
- May God guide the visa application process with wisdom.
- Wisdom to complete all remaining Bible courses.
- May God provide the remaining 40% of the funds needed to cover the budget.
