In English, the children completed their persuasive writing pieces focused on reducing food waste. They worked hard to present strong arguments about why we should be mindful of the food we throw away and even encouraged others to try new foods at school. It was wonderful to see their creativity and persuasion come through in their writing.
This helped the children to be extra mindful during our Waste Warrior workshop on Friday. They thoroughly enjoyed the session and were amazed to discover just how many steps it takes to get chips onto their plates - from planting the potato seed and growing the crop, to harvesting, transporting, and finally cooking.
In PE, we continued developing our hockey skills. The children explored both attacking and defending roles, learning how to work as a team, position themselves effectively, and improve their control and passing.
Our oracy assembly this week focused on road safety. The children engaged in meaningful discussions about how to stay safe when near roads, sharing ideas and experiences while building their confidence in speaking and listening.
In PSHE, we explored economic wellbeing. The children learned about the price of everyday items, how to read simple bank statements, and the differences between debit and credit cards. We also introduced discussions about future career choices and the importance of challenging stereotypes in the workplace.
