At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ.... (Colossians 4:3)
Thankful to God for having you as part of my team interceding with God for me. Thank you for taking the time to read and pray.
The blue flag represents the reunification of the peninsula. It is an un-official flag used since 2006, specifically when the Koreas paraded as one team in sporting events.
God's heart's desire was to design one peninsula, but man's sin separated it into north and south. John 10:10 says that the thief does not come except to steal and kill and destroy. In the process of division there was much death, pain, destruction and many separated families. John 10:10 Jesus says I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. Take a few minutes of your time and pray that God will heal the wounds and traumas caused by this separation, and pray that as Christ forgave us both North and South will forgive each other and reconcile so that the peninsula will once again become God's original design.
In my previous letter I had told you that I would be starting my activities at Soongsil University on March 2nd and that I would be staying in Seoul again on Fridays to attend the Saturday morning courses I would be taking during this semester.
But because I don't have a place to stay in Seoul, I decided to change the 9am course to the 4pm course which means I have to go to Seoul the same Saturday morning then attend the first course at 1pm followed by the second course at 4pm, then I have to leave at 7pm and return the same day to the city of 태백 which is where I live about 3 and a half hours away. That means that Saturday is super exhausting between traveling and receiving classes. I ask you to join me in prayer that every Saturday God will renew our strength.
Whenever I have a training session to delve into the culture of the Korean peninsula, this passage from the bible comes to mind.
"To the Jews I became as a Jew, in order to win Jews. To those under the law I became as one under the law (though not being myself under the law) that I might win those under the law. 21 To those outside the law I became as one outside the law (not being outside the law of God but under the law of Christ) that I might win those outside the law. To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some." 1 Corinthians 9:20-22
Korean Language Classes
My Korean teacher is called Tina, she is willing to teach me with love and passion.
I have a classmate who comes from Brazil; she joined our community in November last year. She has had the opportunity to live in NK for almost a year, one of the testimonies she experienced in NK was when her guide had a pain in his back and she placed her hand on it and prayed to God in silence since it is not possible to pray in the way we usually do, it turns out that after she finished praying her guide told her that her back no longer hurt. God moves with his power even in the midst of silence.
We are enjoying our Korean language classes. I ask you to pray that God will help us every day to be able to understand and speak.
I also have a new "language partner" who is from the church where I attend and she has one hour a week to meet with me and practice Korean.
How to keep remembering me in prayer?
On the 10th of April will be my birthday and my prayer is that every year I will be able to please God in all things.
Pray for the Holy Spirit to guide me in every decision I must make and give me divine direction for the next steps.
May I love our Lord more, with surrender. Love His Word, long for His presence, experience His joy, and be a good steward for His glory.
Wisdom to learn the Korean language and perfect English.
Pray that I will continue to learn and enjoy every activity I have during the week (prayer meetings, classes, training, ministry etc).
For the renewal of visas for some members of the community, God grant that they will be renewed in August without any problem.
God is opening the borders and projects can be developed without any problem so that I can flood NK with the presence.
