Community Updates

1. Happy New Year!

We are in awe of how you responded to challenges and supported one another this year. In 2023. Global Shapers helped communities in crisis, shared youth perspectives in Davos, connected at regional SHAPE events, negotiated for ambitious results at COP28 and delivered hundreds of projects to create a more sustainable and inclusive future.

Thank you for your commitment. We wish you a hopeful end to 2023. See you in 2024!

2. Curatorship Elections

All hubs must elect a new Curator, Vice-Curator and nominate a new Impact Officer before 1 March 2024. Newly-elected leaders start their mandates on 1 July, 2024.

We invite all Hubs to organize a dedicated meeting between December and January to define your elections process and timeline, review our Elections Guidelines, identify prospective candidates and attend an Open House session to ask all your questions.

3. Monthly Show

Join us for our final live show of the year today, 15 December at 16:00 CEST on TopLink and LinkedIn. We will be joined by Pim Valdre, Head of the World Economic Forum's Climate Ambition Initiative. Pim just met with more than 90 Global Shapers at COP28, and will speak about the outcomes of the negotiations and the role of youth in protecting the planet.

World Economic Forum Events

5. Davos in the Metaverse

The World Economic Forum's Global Collaboration Village invites you to participate remotely in an immersive virtual reality (VR) session during the Annual Meeting 2024. This opportunity will leverage VR technology to enhance collaboration on climate among diverse leaders.

6. World Economic Forum Opportunities

Inclusive Cyber is a cross-hub initiative mobilizing non-STEM talent into the cyber security talent pipeline. In Montreal Hub, London I Hub and Kigali Hub, members have developed a transferable skills toolkit, run more than 25 workshops, coached over 1,250 students and represented youth voices in policy development in Canada, Rwanda and the UK.

Is your hub interested in delivering a project to diversify the cybersecurity sector? If yes, join the cross-hub initiative today by contacting the project organizers on Toplink!

9. Agenda

We believe in a world where young people are central to solution-building, policy-making and lasting change.
