We flew from Washington, DC on August 8 and after a brief layover in Paris we landed in Marseille. A car picked us up and 30 minutes later we checked into the apartment / hotel in Aix-en-Provence that we would call home for the next 3 weeks.
We spent a good deal of time traveling around Provence, including trips to Arle, Avignon, Marseille, Luberon Valley, the Pont du Grad Aqueduct (begun by the Romans in the first century AD), and La Costa Vineyard.
Soon our three weeks in Provence was up and we headed off for the Tuscany Valley in Italy.
