Blossom where you're planted.

We once heard our teachers (and Eimy's older brother's in-laws) Wayne and Becky Smith say that: “blossom where you're planted.” What they ment was "no matter where God has you, you serve Him there."

And that's what we have been doing since we finished our missionary training.

Ministry

Bible School (the Institute)

Jordan has continued to work as a Bible stage teacher since the beginning of this semester, teaching the 2nd year students.

Church

The life of our local church has grown little by little, and that has made us very happy.

We had a leadership meeting and talked about the need to be a living church, and ways in which we can do this in a practical way.

We pray that God will allow us to continue to carry out these plans for this semester and that we will continue to make an impact as a church in the neighborhood where we are.

Some time ago we told you about Christian, a very smart boy who had been learning a lot with the youth group classes.

Today we give glory to God because his mother has been going to church on Sundays for several months now and has not missed a day.

Jordan will begin preaching from Hebrews chapter 12 starting this Sunday. And he has already been officially appointed elder of the Grace and Truth Bible Congregation of Fusagasugá (our church) along with 3 other men, two of whom are teachers in the institute and know very well our desire to serve the Lord within an ethnic group.

At our church door, worshiping, sunday school.

For Mother's Day, the youth group leaders made some cookies to give as a gift to the moms of the church, along with a little gift that we all worked on.

Decorating the cookies.
On Sunday one of the girls would take pictures of all the moms arriving at the church and send them to Eimy to print for the gift.

Youth group

On saturdays we are now dividing the classes, one group of those who already understand and believe the Gospel, another with those who have not yet understood it or the new ones, and another with the younger children.

There is a new group of kids coming in on Saturdays. We are gradually getting to know them and sharing the gospel with them.

Family

Rónald, Eimy's brother, and his family arrived here in Fusagasugá from the United States two months ago with the purpose of serving as missionaries within the Institute as teachers of the Bible stage.

At the moment they are learning about Colombian culture, and his wife (Lexie) is learning Spanish. We have been helping them to settle in, to get to know the town of Fusagasugá and how life works here in Colombia.

Mother's Day with eimy's uncle and aunt who are also currently working as teachers at the institute (eimy's uncle is one of the elders of our church).
We are so grateful for your prayers, messages of encouragement and support - we appreciate it!

Prayer requests

  • For wisdom as Jordan preaches in church.
  • For the new kids coming into the club, may God prepare their hearts to listen.
  • For REJUVALI, a 3-day camp that we do at the Institute for young people from all over the world and Colombia to come and learn about cross-cultural missions and the need to preach the gospel where it has not been preached before. We are in charge of organizing the afternoon activities. The camp will be in August, pray for physical strength and wisdom so that what we organize will challenge and encourage those who come.
Please continue to pray with us for direction. For now we will continue to serve Him in the Institute and in our local church.

In Christ,

Jordan and Eimy Jaspe
