Protecting Vulnerable People Unit, North Wales Police Mike has been a police officer with North Wales Police since 2008. A large proportion of this has been working within the Protecting Vulnerable People Unit. Specific roles were around Domestic Abuse, where he worked with victims to help secure convictions against their perpetrators and working collaboratively with Domestic Abuse charities. He then became the Force Strategic Lead in Domestic Abuse, Stalking and Harassment and Honour Based Abuse, looking at ways in which the force could make positive changes to their service delivery supporting victims. Mike is an Ambassador and Trustee for White Ribbon UK, an associate of Domestic Abuse Charity, Safelives, delivering Domestic Abuse training to other front-line officers in forces across the UK. Mike has won in-force awards for tackling exploitation in 2021 and innovation on how to work collaboratively with communities to support Domestic Abuse victims in 2022. In 2021 he won Wales’ Chwarae Teg ‘Womenspire’ Gender Equality Champion Award and was appointed MBE for services to victims of Domestic Abuse in the Queen's Birthday Honours.
