Workforce Development Month

Workforce Development Month is a nationwide celebration to showcase the opportunities that Workforce Development offers for Americans to develop workplace experience and skills that employers value.

Throughout the month of September, leaders in business, labor, workforce, education, and other critical industries have the opportunity to showcase their workforce development programs, participants, and facilities in their local communities. Additionally, program participants have a platform to share their experience with workforce services and programs, and how it has transformed their lives.

Open Houses

Join Arapahoe/Douglas Works! in celebrating workforce development at our Open House Event, on Wednesday, September 13, 2023. Additionally, Arapahoe/Douglas Works! will be hosting a Community Partners Open House at Centennial Workforce Center - located at Lima Plaza Campus, 6974 S. Lima Street, Centennial, CO 80112 on September 21st from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m..

A/D Works!' new industry profiles provide comprehensive insights into various sectors within the Colorado Urban Front Range. These profiles encompass a range of critical data points, including historical trends, employment statistics, and demographic information. They also delve into the evolving landscape of telework and automation strategies, shedding light on how these technologies are impacting the local workforce.

Additionally, the industry profiles offer valuable information on wage trends and highlight the top occupations within these industries, making them an invaluable resource for businesses, job seekers, and policymakers in the region.

Profiles available for Bioscience, Construction, Finance & Insurance, Hospitality, Information Technology, and Manufacturing. Profiles coming soon include Aerospace & Aviation, Air Transportation, Broadband, Engineering, Healthcare, and Retail.

Wage Report

The Colorado Department of Labor and Employments Office of Labor Market Information (LMI) has released its annual Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics (OEWS) Report. This report provides a comprehensive overview of Colorado’s occupational employment and wage dynamics statewide. The report includes information such as average hourly and annual wages for the top 20 Colorado occupations, the 20 highest- and lowest-earning occupations in Colorado, and more. Arapahoe/Douglas Works! Employment First Career Fair

Arapahoe/Douglas Works! hosted the annual Employment First Career Fair on July 12, 2023 at CentrePoint Plaza, and it was successful for the job seekers and employers who attended! There were over 130 enthusiastic attendees from various Arapahoe/Douglas Works! programs including Employment First, Parents to Work, Colorado Works, and WIOA, along with general jobseekers. Arapahoe/Douglas Workforce Development Board Task Forces are Seeking Members

Marketing/Outreach/Engagement Task Force

This task force is focused on enhancing the efficiency and reach on marketing efforts. The objective is to deliver a unified and impactful message that resonates with the target audience and promotes the objectives of the Workforce Development Board and Arapahoe/Douglas Works!. This task force is committed to continuously evaluating their approach and market data-driven decisions to ensure their marketing efforts are as effective as possible.

Mental Health Task Force

This task force aims to improve awareness and support for mental health. The objective is to collect and provide resources and best practices that enhance the understanding of mental health and promote its importance. The task force is committed to spreading awareness and educating the public on the significance of mental wellness.

Young Adult Engagement Task Force

This task force is dedicated to increasing the engagement and enrollment of young adults (age 16-24), in workforce development services. The objective is to develop effective strategies to reach and motivate this demographic to take advantage of available opportunities and resources. The task force is committed to creating innovative approaches that resonate with young adults and support their career development, empowering them to achieve their professional goals and success in the workforce.

Arapahoe/Douglas Workforce Development Board High Performing Board

The Colorado Workforce Development Council (CWDC) has identified key performance indicators to be designated as a High Performing Local Workforce Development Board. The Arapahoe/Douglas Workforce Development Board strives to maintain a high-performing status, which qualifies us for additional grant money to provide members an opportunity for professional development, industry knowledge, and community awareness.
