An Era of Dominance

The Indian Hills Men's Golf Team has proven to be one of the elite junior college men's golf programs over the last three decades. The Warriors have collected the second-most NJCAA DI Men's Golf Championships all-time and are tied for the most NJCAA individual national champions among active junior colleges.

The Warriors made an unprecedented run to the program's seventh national championship in 2023, winning by 11 strokes as freshman Jose Miguel Ramirez took home the individual medalist honor with a first-place 12-under for the Warriors. The Warriors collected three All-American honors - Ramirez, Gaspar Glaudas (3rd, -9), and Taimur Malik (15th, -1). The seventh national title tied the Warriors for third all-time among all NJCAA Divisions, while the team's sixth Division I title is second-most all-time.

One year removed from finishing as the national runner-up, the Warriors re-claimed its place at the top of the leaderboard with its sixth national championship in program history, winning by nine strokes. Four different individuals - Ricky Sanders (T2, -9), Joe Kim (T5, -5), Julien Sale (T8, -4), and George Clarke (T14, E) earned All-American honors.

Ricky Sanders capped his stellar IHCC career with a runner-up finish in 2018 after earning medalist honors as a freshman in 2017.
Nathan Weant was named the Delnor Poss Coach of the Year after leading the Warriors to the national title in his only year at Indian Hills

Playing in their home state, the Warriors led each round of the 2014 NJCAA DI Men's Golf Championship to collect its third title in four years. The Warriors saved their best performance for the final round and ran away with the title, winning by 16 strokes following a 13-shot margin over the final 18 holes.

2012 - THE FIRST BACK-TO-BACK!

The 2012 NJCAA DI Men's Golf National Champions

The Warriors asserted their dominance at the 2012 National Championship by doubling its lead over the final 18 holes while winning its second consecutive title by a 13-stroke margin. Jon-Paul Blampied finished as the national runner-up while Ben Ludlam earned All-American honors with a sixth-place showing.

2011 - THE REVIVAL

Odessa, TX - Odessa Country Club | +14, 1,166

For the first time as a NJCAA Division I program, and the second time in school history, the Warriors captured the national championship. The preseason No. 1 team in the nation led by as many as 15 strokes and sat atop the leaderboard after each of the final two rounds. Dan Dawson and Steven Ihm powered the Warriors as the duo each tied for fourth overall while Jon-Paul Blampied earned All-American honors with a 17th-place showing.

2000 - A DYNASTY IN THE MAKING

College Station, TX - Texas A&M | +11, 875

The 2000 Indian Hills Men's Golf team cemented themselves in the record books as the first northern school to capture an NJCAA Men's Golf National Championship. Led by Reeve Krikke's sixth-place finish, the Warriors captured the title with a four-stroke victory. Inducted into the Indian Hills Athletic Hall of Fame in 2023, the 2000 squad was coached by Warrior alum Brad Stracke.

THE MEDALISTS

Along with its storied team success, the Indian Hills Men's Golf Team has captured six individual national championships, six national runner-up performances, and 17 top-five efforts.

Jose Miguel Ramirez - 2023 | -12, 276

With just one semester of competition under his belt, freshman Jose Miguel Ramirez stormed his way to the 2023 national title at Sand Creek Station in Newton, KS after firing three rounds in the 60's and led all Warriors with 18 birdies over the course of the four rounds. Ramirez was named the 2023 GCAA Arnold Palmer Award winner

Ricky Sanders - 2017 | -3, 285

A two-time NJCAA All-American, Ricky Sanders wasted no time in joining the all-time greats at Indian Hills with the individual national title during his freshman campaign at Buffalo Dunes in Garden City, KS. Sanders won the national championship by four strokes with bookend rounds of 70. Sanders captured three individual titles during the spring season, including the national and district titles to earn the Phil Mickelson Outstanding Freshman of the Year Award.

Brad Smith - 2006 | -17, 271

One of the most historic performances in NJCAA Men's Golf history belongs to Indian Hills' own Brad Smith, the 2006 national champion at the Links at Sierra Blanca in Ruidoso, NM. Smith became the first player in NJCAA history to fire a 271 in a national championship event, a mark that is still tied for first all-time thanks to a single-round record 62. Smith, a 2014 Indian Hills Athletics Hall of Fame inductee, owns the lowest 18, 36, 54, and 72 rounds in school history.

Adam Collins - 2003 | -8, 280

Adam Collins became the third NJCAA National Champion in school history after running away with the 2003 title at the Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear, AZ. Collins fired a tournament-best 65 in the second round to pull away before using a 70 in the final round to take the win.

Pat Stolpe - 2001 | -4, 284

Trailing by five shots entering the final round in College Station, TX, Stolpe fired a remarkable 67 over the final 18 holes to capture the 2001 national title, the second medalist honor in school history. Stolpe, who was a member of the 2000 national championship team at Indian Hills, completed his collegiate career at Coastal Carolina before carving out a professional career on the Korn Ferry Tour.

Adam Babb - 1998 | +4, 292

The first individual national champion in school history, Babb won the 1998 national title by five strokes at Woodlake Country Club in Pinehurst, NC. Babb sat atop the leaderboard after each of the first three rounds before firing a tournament-best 70 to close out the national championship in dominant fashion.
