Need a cool family outing for Sunday?? Look no further!

Parents, All students should have IDs now. During the week of October 2-6, all students will begin wearing their IDs. This is our learning week. After October 9th, students will need to buy a temporary ID for $1 or serve lunch detention when they do not have their ID. If a student has lost their ID completely, they can buy another one using the link below or stop by the main office.
Some of our art students had the opportunity to present at the Texas Association of School Boards conference today. Congratulations Art students. Way to go!

On October 13th, Gunn will be celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month. Students are encouraged to dress in support of Hispanic Heritage month on Friday during school as well. Come join us that night for a celebration!

Title I Parent Meeting Video

Mr. Gary Rodriguez, our Restorative Practices Specialist has received a promotion to the District Parent and Community and Engagement Office. He has been a great asset, and will be missed. We are beginning a search for his successor.

Ms. Rocio Gonzalez has been our Family Engagement Liaison for many years. She has been an important part of the team and we are excited that she will be moving to the same role at Sam Houston High School. Join me in wishing her well in her next adventure.

Welcome Ms. Hernandez!
Welcome Ms. Carrillo!
Welcome Ms. Smoot!
Welcome Ms. Windsor

AISD Family Engagement Council

For the previous twenty years, Arlington ISD has convened a Title I Parent Advisory Council to support Title I funded parent engagement programming. The AISD Family and Community Engagement (FCE) Department is excited to expand the council and coalesce districtwide AISD family stakeholders to form a new AISD Family Engagement Council. The purpose of the AISD Family Engagement Council is to provide family stakeholder voice to the development and refinement of AISD family engagement initiatives, build parent capacity for district committee work and enhance communication streams between our school district and our families. A key objective for the team is to produce our districtwide AISD Family Engagement Plan that will include our various departmental family engagement metrics.

Gunn is searching for two representatives to serve on the AISD Family Engagement Council and to join for the kickoff meeting on Thursday, October 12, 2023 (6-7:30PM), at the AISD Mac Bernd Professional Development Center. (Meetings in October, January, and April to follow). Please email Dr. Varnell at mvarnell@aisd.net if you are willing to represent Gunn!
